هدفت الدّراسة تعرف الممارسات السلطوية لدى مديري المدارس المتوسطة بمنطقة الجهراء التعليمية في دولة الكويت وعلاقتها بدافعية المعلمين نحو عملهم، وأثر متغيرات (الجنس، والمؤهل العلمي، وسنوات الخبرة) في ذلك، وتكوَّنت عينة الدراسة من (391) معلما ومعلمة. وتم تصميم أداة تكونت من محورين الأول: لقياس الممارسات السلطوية لدى مديري المدارس المتوسطة بمنطقة الجهراء التعليمية في دولة الكويت وتكون من (31) فقرة موزعة على ثلاثة مجالات هي (التخطيط، تنفيذ الأعمال، اتخاذ القرار)، والثاني: لقياس دافعية المعلمين نحو عملهم، وتكون من (22) فقرة، وتم التحقق من صدقها وثباتها. وأظهرت نتائج الدِّراسة أن درجة الممارسات السلطوية لدى مديري المدارس المتوسطة بمنطقة الجهراء التعليمية في دولة الكويت متوسطة. كما أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لأثر متغيرات الجنس والمؤهل العلمي وسنوات الخبرة فيما يتعلق بالممارسات السلطوية. وأشارت النتائج إلى أن دافعية المعلمين نحو عملهم في المدارس المتوسطة بمنطقة الجهراء التعليمية في دولة الكويت مرتفعة، كما أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لأثر متغيرات الجنس والمؤهل العلمي وسنوات الخبرة فيما يتعلق بدافعية المعلمين نحو عملهم. كما أظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة ارتباطية إيجابية (طردية) دالة إحصائياً بين مجالات الممارسات السلطوية لدى مديري المدارس المتوسطة بمنطقة الجهراء التعليمية في دولة الكويت ودافعية المعلمين نحو عملهم. وفي ضوء النتائج التي توصلت لها الدراسة أوصى الباحثان بمجموعة من التوصيات أهمها: الاهتمام بتدريب مديري المدارس على تبني الممارسات الديمقراطية بدلا من الممارسات التسلطية؛ وإصدار تشريعات من قبل وزارة التربية تتضمن إشراك المعلمين من قبل مديري المدارس في التخطيط، وتنفيذ الأعمال، واتخاذ القرارات المدرسية. The study aimed to identify authorithoritarian practices of intermediate school principals in ALJahra Area of education in the State of Kuwait and their relation to teachers’ motivation towards their jobs, and the effect of certain variables (sex, educational qualification and years of experience) on that. The study sample consisted of (391) male and female teachers. Two questionnaires was developed to measure the variables of the study .The first measures authorithoritarian practices. It included (31) items distributed on three fields (Planning, Work execution, and Make decision) the second measure teachers’ motivation towards their jobs. It included (22) items. The questionnaires validity and reliability have been confirmed. The results showed that: authorithoritarian practices of intermediate school principals in ALJahra area of education in the State of Kuwait was medium. The results showed no statistically significant differences due to variables (sex, educational qualification, years of experience) on all fields of authorithoritarian practices. The results showed also teachers motivation towards their Jobs were medium. The results showed no statistically significant differences due to variables (sex, educational qualification, years of experience) on all fields of teachers motivation towards their Jobs. And the result showed a positive correlation between all fields of authorithoritarian practices and all fields of teachers’ motivation towards their jobs. According to the findings of the study, the researcher suggested a set of recommendations. 1) attention to the training of school administrators to adopt democratic practices and participatory rather than authoritarian practices. 2) Legislation issued by the ministry of education include the involvement of teachers by school principals in the planning and works execution and make decision.
