The purpose of the study was to investigate the degree of difficulties of learning writing in English language faced by (4-6) basic grades students from the point of view of their teachers in the capital. The study applied the descriptive survey method, the population of the study was consisted of all public and private schools' English teachers containing the primary grades (4- 6) in the educational directorate in Amman, totaling 4221 teachers, 698 from public schools and 3523 from private schools. A proportional stratified random sample was selected from the population of the study, representing 8% of total population that was considering to Bartlett tables for stratified random according to teachers’ gender, and the mandating authority totaling 351 male and female teachers, 58 male and 293 female. The researcher developed a questionnaire to measure the degree of difficulties of writing in English language. The questionnaire consisted of 40 items distributed among three areas: difficulties of word writing; 13 items, difficulties of writing cohesion 15 items, and difficulties of writing composition 12 items. The results of the study illustrated that the difficulties degree in writing in English language was in a high degree in all areas of the study instrument, the arithmetic averages ranged between 3.76- 4.00. Significant differences were found due to mandating authority (public- private), in favor of public schools. Significant differences were found due to gender, in favor of male teachers. Significant differences were found due to educational level (fourth, fifth, sixth), in favor of fourth grade when it was compared with fifth and sixth grade, and in favor of fifth grade when it was compared with sixth grade.
