هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة الوسائل الحديثة التي تُستخدم في التعليم عن بعد بجامعة السودان للعلوم والتكنولوجيا وأثرها في تعزيز العملية التعليمية، بالإضافة إلى الكشف عن المعوقات التي تحول دون استخدامها. استخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (73) من أعضاء هيئة التدريس الذين يُدرسون في عمادة التعليم عن بُعد. جُمعت البيانات باستخدام ثلاث أدوات هي الاستبانة، والمقابلة، وقائمة الرصد. توصلت الدراسة إلى أنه على الرغُم من قناعة أعضاء هيئة التدريس بأن الوسائل الحديثة تعزز العملية التعليمية إلا أن الكتاب هو الوسيلة الأساسية المستخدمة في التعليم عن بُعد وليس هناك أي توظيف للوسائل التعليمية الحديثة. كما كشفت الدراسة عن وجود معوقات تحول دون استخدام الوسائل التعليمية الحديثة في التعليم عن بُعد بجامعة السودان للعلوم والتكنولوجيا منها معوقات تواجه الجامعة وأعضاء هيئة التدريس وطالب التعليم عن بُعد. بناءً على هذه النتائج قدمت الباحثة بعض التوصيات منها: إقامة دورات تدريبية لأعضاء هيئة التدريس على استخدام الوسائل الحديثة في التعليم، وتوعية طالب التعليم عن بعد بأهمية الوسائل الحديثة ودورها في تعزيز العملية التعليمية.(الملخص المنشور)

This study aimed at finding out the modern educational aids used in the distance education at Sudan University of Science and Technology, and its impact on enhancing the educational process as well as detecting the obstacles that prevent the use of modern educational aids. The researcher used the descriptive and analytical approach, the study sample consisted of (73) faculty members who are teachnig at the Deanship of Distance Learning. The data were collected with three tools: questionaires interviews and checklists. The study found that despite the conviction of the faculty members that the modern educational aids enhance the educational process,the book is the major aid used in distance education and there is no any utilization of modern educational aids .The study revealed the existence of numerous obstacles that hinder the use of modern educational aids in the distance education at Sudan University of Science and Technology; obstacles facing the university, faculty members and students of distance education. Based on these findings the researcher proposed some recommendations that include: providing training courses to the faculty members on the use of modern educational aids and enlightening the distance education students about the importance of modern aids and its role in enhancing the educational process.(Published abstract)
