هدفت الدراسة إلى تعرف مدى توافر عمليات العلم الأساسية في محتوى منهاج العلوم للصف السادس الأساسي في الجمهورية العربية السورية، ولتحقيق هذا الهدف اعتمدت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي، وقامت بإعداد قائمة بعمليات العلم الأساسية بالاستناد إلى تصنيفي رابطة التربية العلمية والجمعية الأمريكية لتقدم العلوم، تكونت في صورتها النهائية من (8) عمليات، و(38) مؤشرا دالا عليها، وصممت على أساسها أداة التحليل المتمثلة في استمارة التحليل بغية تحليل عينة الدراسة المؤلفة من كتاب العلوم للصف السادس الأساسي، وتحققت الباحثة من صدق التحليل وثباته وفقها. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة توافر عمليات العلم الأساسية جميعها في كتاب العلوم للصف السادس، إلا أنها وردت بنسب غير مدروسة؛ حيث طغت عمليات الاتصال والملاحظة والاستدلال على بقية عمليات العلم الأساسية، وبناء على ذلك قدمت الباحثة بعض التوصيات. This research aimed to determine the availability of basic science processes in science book for sixth grade in Syrian Arab Republic. To achieve this goal, the researcher adopted the descriptive method and prepared a list of basic science processes, based on the lists of (ASE) and (AAAS), this list, finally, consisted of (8) processes and (38) indicators to these processes. The researcher designed a content analysis tool which is a content analysis card to analyze the research sample consisting of science book for the sixth grade and checked the validity and reliability. The results showed a complete availability of basic science processes in the science book for sixth grade, however, it was received in unconsidered proportions, where the processes of communicating, observing and inferring overshadowed the rest of the basic science processes. The researcher has, therefore, introduced some recommendations. (Published Abstract)
