هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على أثر استخدام إستراتيجية التعلم باللعب في تدريس اللغة الإنجليزية في تنمية مهارات التفكير الناقد لدى طلبة الصف الثامن الأساسي في مديرية التربية والتعليم لمحافظة جرش. اتبعت الدراسة المنهج شبه التجريبي، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من خمسين طالبا من طلبة المدارس الأساسية التابعة لمديرية تربية جرش. وبناء عليه فقد تم اختيار مجموعتين من طلبة الصف الثامن الأساسي بالطريقة العشوائية البسيطه حيث تمثل المجموعة الأولى والبالغ عددها خمسة وعشرون طالبا المجموعة التجريبية، والمجموعة الثانية والبالغ عددها خمسة وعشرون طالبا المجموعة الضابطة. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم إعداد اختبار لمهارات التفكير الناقد. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود أثرلاستراتيجية التعلم باللعب دالة إحصائيا بين متوسط علامات المجموعتين التجريبية التي درست باستخدام استراتيجية التعلم باللعب وعلامات المجموعة الضابطة التي درست بالطريقة التقليدية على اختبارات التفكير الناقد لصالح المجموعة التجريبية. The study aimed to identify the effect of using the learning-by-play strategy in teaching English on developing critical thinking skills among eighth grade students in the Directorate of Education in Jerash Governorate. The study followed the semi-experimental approach. Jerash, and accordingly, two groups of eighth grade students were selected in a simple random way, where the first group of twenty-five students represented the experimental group, and the second group of twenty-five students was the control group. To achieve the objectives of the study, a test of critical thinking skills was prepared. Results of the study: There is a statistically significant effect of the learning by playing strategy between the average marks of the two experimental groups that were studied using the learning by playing strategy and the marks of the control group that were taught in the traditional way on critical thinking tests in favor of the experimental group.
