هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تعرف تصورات أعضاء هيئات التدريس في الجامعات الأردنية الحكومية لمستقبل الحياة على كوكب الأرض حتى 2020 م. بنيت استبانة لجمع البيانات. تكونت العينة من 300 عضو هيئة تدريس في الجامعات الأردنية الحكومية يشكلون تصورات محتملة لمستقبل الحياة على كوكب الأرض حتى عام 2020 م في المجالات الأربعة: تكنولوجيا المعلومات والزراعة والغذاء، والصحة والطب، والفضاء والبيئة. أشارت النتائج إلى وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في تصورات أعضاء هيئات التدريس تعزى لمتغير التخصص في مجال الزراعة والغذاء ولصالح أعضاء هيئات التدريس في الكليات العلمية، في حين لم تظهر فروق في المجالات الأخرى. ووجدت فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في متوسطات استجابة أفراد العينة على المجالين الصحة والطب، والزراعة والغذاء تعزى إلى الرتبة العلمية ولصالح الأستاذ المساعد، في حين لم تظهر فروق على المجالات الأخرى. وأشارت النتائج أيضاً إلى وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في متوسطات استجابات أفراد العينة على مجالات الصحة والطب، وتكنولوجيا المعلومات تعزى إلى بلد التخرج ولصالح خريجي أميركا وكندا، في حين لم تظهر فروق في مجالي الزراعة والغذاء والفضاء والبيئة. The current study aims at exploring the perceptions of faculty members of Jordan public universities of the future of life on Earth till 2020 year. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher had developed a questionnaire whose validity and reliability has been verified. The study sample consisted of (300) faculty members. The study finding indicated that the faculty members of Jordan public universities outline potential perceptions of the future of life on Earth till 2020 year in the following four fields: IT, agriculture and food, health and medicine, space and environment. The study's findings also indicated the existence of statistically significant differences in the perceptions of faculty members attributed to the variable of specialization in the field of agriculture and food and in favor of faculty members in scientific faculties, where no statistically significant differences were found in other fields of the study. In addition there are statistically significant differences in the means of response of the study sample to the fields of medicine and IT that are attributed to the scientific rankings and in favor of assistant professor's, where no statistically significant differences were found in other fields of the study. Further, the study's findings indicated that there are statistically significant differences in the means of the study sample responses of the study sample to the fields of health and medicine, agriculture and food and IT which are attributed to the country of graduation in favor of US and Canada graduates, where no differences appear in the field of space and environment.
