هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى الكشف عن العلاقة بين الشغف الأكاديمي والاحتراق الأكاديمي، في ضوء متغيرات: الجنس، والمهنة، والبرنامج الدراسي، ومستوى الدخل، لدى عينة تكونت من (230) طالبًا وطالبة (48 طالبًا، و182 طالبة)، اختيروا بالطريقة المتيسرة من الطلبة الملتحقين في برنامجي الماجستير والدكتوراه في جامعة اليرموك. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، تم استخدام مقياس فاليراند وآخرين (Vallerand et al., 2003) للشغف الأكاديمي ومقياس رايس وآخرين (Riase et al., 2015) للاحتراق الأكاديمي. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى عدد من النتائج، أبرزها: أن مستوى الشغف المتناغم لدى أفراد العينة كان مرتفعًا؛ بينما مستوى الشغف الاستحواذي كان متوسطًا. كذلك تبين أن مستوى الاحتراق الأكاديمي، سواءً كان على مستوى المقياس الكلي أو على مستوى الأبعاد، كان متوسطًا. كما أشارت النتائج إلى وجود فروق دالة إحصائيًا في مستوى الشغف الاستحواذي تعزى إلى متغير البرنامج الدراسي لصالح طلبة برنامج الدكتوراه، ووجود فروق تعزى إلى متغير مستوى الدخل لصالح الطلبة ذوي الدخل المرتفع، وبين ذوي الدخل المتوسط والدخل المنخفض لصالح ذوي الدخل المتوسط. كما أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائيًا في مستوى الشغف المتناغم تعزى لمتغير الجنس أو متغير المهنة. أما في الشغف الاستحواذي، فأشارت النتائج إلى وجود فروق دالة إحصائيًا تعزى إلى متغير مستوى الدخل بين ذوي الدخل المرتفع وكل من ذوي الدخل المتوسط والمنخفض لصالح ذوي الدخل المرتفع. كذلك بينت النتائج وجود علاقة سالبة بين بُعدي الشغف الأكاديمي والاحتراق الأكاديمي. ‏ (الملخص المنشور)‎

This study aimed to explore the relationship between academic passion and academic burnout, in light of the variables of: Gender, occupation, program and income level, in a sample of 230 students (48 male and 182 females), who were chosen using the available method from the students enrolled in the master's and doctoral programs at Yarmouk University. To achieve the aims of the study, two measures were used; the measure of academic passion (Valerand et al., 2003) and the academic burnout measure (Riese et al., 2015). The results indicated that the level of harmonious desire in the sample was high; the level of obsessive-compulsive desire was moderate, and the level of academic burnout, whether at the total level or the at the dimensions' levels, was moderate. Moreover, there were significant differences in the level of obsessive passion, in favor of the doctoral program. Statistically significant differences were found for the variable of income level between high-income and middle-income, in favor of the high level, as well as between the low level and moderate level, in favor of middle-income level. There were no statistically significant differences in the level of harmonious passion due to gender or profession. As for obsessive passion, results indicated statistically significant differences due to the variable of income level (high, middle and low income), in favor of the high level of income. The results also showed a negative relationship between the two dimensions of passion and academic burnout.‎ (Published abstract)
