تهدف هذه الورقة البحثية الى تسليط الضوء على أحد رموز الحركة الإصلاحية في الجزائر وهو "الشيخ الطيب العقبي"، مبرزين من خلالها دوره وجهوده الإصلاحية في المجال التربوي والتعليمي، والتركيز على الأساليب التي استعملها لتجسيد أعماله الإصلاحية في الدفاع عن الدين الإسلامي واللغة العربية، وكذا محاربة الطرف الصوفية المنحرفة، والتصدي للسياسة الاستعمارية الغاشمة، باستخدام المنهج التاريخي الوصفي الملائم لسرد الأحداث وتقرير الحقائق التاريخية عن الاعمال الإصلاحية للطيب العقبي، حيث سوف نتناول ترجمة عن هذا العلامة، ثم التطرق إلى مختلف أساليبه ونشاطاته الإصلاحية. وقد تم التوصل إلى النتائج التالية: أن المبادئ الإصلاحية التي دعا إليها العقبي مبادئ شاملة، فكان الإصلاح الديني ممثلاً في نشاطه المسجدي والدعوي عموماً، والإصلاح السياسي مجسد في نشاطه السياسي والجمعوي، والإصلاح الاجتماعي من خلال الجمعية الخيرية الإسلامية، أما الإصلاح الثقافي التربوي فكان ممثلا في توجيهه لمدرسة الشبيبة الإسلامية. وفي ضوء هذه النتائج تقترح الدراسة الاهتمام والتوجه إلى دراسة الشخصيات البارزة في الحركة الإصلاحية بالجزائر، لأن دراسة الإعلام وتتبع أعمالهم وجهودهم لها أهمية كبرى في الحفاظ على رصيدهم النضالي وأعمالهم الإصلاحية، حتى يتسنى للأجيال اللاحقة الانتفاع بآثارهم، ولكي لا تضيع الأعمال التي ناضل من أجلها أولئك العظماء الذين يعتبرون المنارات المضيئة في تاريخ الجزائر.
