The study aimed to identifying the obstacles of professional development of general education teachers and the proposed methods for developing the professional development of general education teachers in Thadig province. The researcher used descriptive method. The study population consisted of (210) teachers of intermediate education in Thadig province . The sample consisted of (154), which is the whole of the study society, i.e. (73.3%). The researcher used the questionnaire as a tool for collecting information. The study results: 1) there were no statistically significant differences among the sample in the reality of development for the teachers of general education in Thadig province according to (qualification - experience - number of courses). 2) There were no statistically significant differences among the sample in the obstacles of the teacher’s professional development of general education in Thadig province according to (qualification - experience - number of courses). 3) There were no statistically significant differences among the sample in the proposed methods for developing the professional development of the general education teachers in Thadig province according to (qualification - experience - number of courses). The study recommendations: 1) Developing the required competencies for trainers in the field of professional development in Thadig province. 2) Use of new technology in the professional development of teachers to introduce technology (Ibad and others in education). 3) Provide training packages related to the professional development process provided by the experienced. 4) Activating professional development programs for teachers and supervising their implementation and taking advantage of their recommendations in Thadig province. 5) Establishing a training center for professional development in Thadak governorate. 6) Attracting cadres trained internally and externally to contribute to training and promote the professional development of teachers in Thadak governorate.
