The academic orientation, for the choice of the school sector (SV, SG, SE and LH) or the technical sector, and the professional orientation for the choice of career, channels the future of the individuals and organize the construction of their future project .The aim of this study is to examine the role of school management, through an entity, formed by well-chosen and knowledgeable people in the field of guidance, in the organization and supervision of a student's academic orientation and professional guidance with maximum efficiency. To arrive at our goal, in the theoretical part that serves to show in general the characteristics of the orientation, we have exposed the history of the evolution of the school and professional orientations, in order to see how these have introduced into school curricula. We have listed the evolution of the orientation in the French system, since in Lebanon in most schools, we follow courses similar to those in France and we have about 48 approved institutions. Then we explained how the orientation process in the schools goes, in order to enumerate the agents who, intervene in this work. Our study was conducted for two years in private and public schools as well as in different universities in Lebanon. Many students from different institutions participated in this research, along with a number of guidance officers working in academic institutions and guidance offices. Add to this, the private companies concerned by the orientation and who participated in our study. All this, in order to show the complexity of this subject and the need to organize it and optimize its efficiency. Various instruments were used in this work to collect information and complete the research: questionnaires, interviews and field observations. To analyze the results obtained, and to have accurate and well-targeted data, we used both quantitative and qualitative methods. The different questionnaires completed by the students were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively, but the interviews were studied qualitatively. Field observations were of great importance, especially after their qualitative interpretation. The aims of all our questionnaires, our interviews and our observations were to see how organized and how academic and professional orientation processes are carried out in schools in the Lebanese context. In addition to obtain information about the internal and external agents that participate in this process of school orientation and how can one control the factors and agents that can influence the processes of academic and professional orientation of students. The various findings showed the major role of school management in organizing, supervising, and running an academic orientation process for the choice of the school field (SV, SG, LE and SE) or the technical guidance for the choice of university education and thereby the profession. The purpose of this study is to encourage schools to set up school guidance offices to organize and supervise a successful academic and professional guidance process that shows the importance of having a well-defined entity that will accompany students in their choice and their decision in order to build, thereafter, a society of passionate, enthusiastic and persevering professionals, living their profession as a vocation in the service of the other. L’orientation académique, pour le choix de la filière scolaire (SV, SG, SE et LH) ou la filière technique, et l’orientation professionnelle, pour le choix de carrière, canalisent le futur des individus et gouvernent la construction du projet de l’avenir. La présente étude a pour but d’examiner le rôle des directions scolaires, à travers une entité, formée par des personnes bien choisies et connaisseurs dans le domaine de l’orientation, dans l’organisation et la supervision d’une orientation académique des élèves et d’une orientation professionnelle avec le maximum d’efficacité possible. Pour arriver à nos fins, dans la partie théorique, qui sert à montrer, en générale, les caractéristiques de l’orientation, nous avons exposé l’historique de l’évolution des orientations scolaires et professionnelles, afin de voir comment celles-ci ont été introduites dans les cursus scolaires. Nous avons cité l’évolution de l’orientation dans le système Français, vu qu’au Liban dans la plupart des établissements scolaires, nous suivons des cursus proches de ceux français et nous avons environ 48 établissements homologués. Puis nous avons expliqué comment se déroule le processus d’orientation dans les écoles, pour énumérer par la suite les agents qui interviennent dans ce travail. Notre étude a été menée pendant deux ans, dans des établissements scolaires privés et publics ainsi que dans différentes universités au Liban. Un bon nombre d’élèves et d’étudiants de différents établissements ont participé à cette recherche, avec en parallèle plusieurs responsables de l’orientation travaillant dans des établissements scolaires et dans des bureaux d’orientation, universitaires. Ajoutons à cela, les entreprises privées concernées par l’orientation et qui ont participé à notre étude. Tout cela, dans le but de montrer la complexité de ce sujet et la nécessité de bien l’organiser et d’optimiser son efficacité. Différents instruments ont été utilisés dans ce travail, pour collecter les informations et compléter les recherches : questionnaires, entretiens et observations sur terrains. Pour analyser les résultats obtenus, et avoir des données précises et bien ciblées, nous avons utilisé les deux méthodes, quantitative et qualitative. Les différents questionnaires remplis par les élèves et les étudiants ont été analysés quantitativement et qualitativement, par contre, les entretiens ont été étudiés qualitativement. Les observations sur terrain ont été de grande importance, surtout après leur interprétation qualitative. Les buts de tous nos questionnaires, nos entretiens et nos observations étaient de voir comment sont organisés et comment se déroulent les processus d’orientation académique et professionnelle, dans les établissements scolaires dans le contexte libanais, quels sont les agents internes et externes qui participent à ce processus d’orientation à l’école et comment peut-on contrôler les facteurs et les agents qui peuvent influencer sur les processus de l’orientation académique et professionnelle des élèves. Les différentes constations ont montré le rôle majeur de la direction des établissements scolaires dans l’organisation, la supervision et le déroulement d’un processus d’orientation académique pour le choix de la filière scolaire (SV, SG, LE et SE) ou la filière technique et d’orientation professionnelle pour le choix de la formation universitaire et par là, la profession. Alors, cette étude consiste à encourager, d’une part les établissements scolaires à former des bureau d’orientation à l’école, pour organiser et superviser un processus d’orientation scolaire (académique et professionnelle) réussi et fructueux et d’autre part, à montrer l’importance d’avoir une entité bien déterminée qui accompagnera les élèves dans leur choix et leur décision afin de bâtir, par la suite, une société de professionnels passionnés enthousiastes et persévérants, vivant leur métier comme vocation au service de l’autre.
