هدفت الدراسة إلى الكشف عن مستوى وعي معلّمي الدراسات الاجتماعية في مدارس الحلقة الثانية بسلطنة عمان بقضايا العلم والتكنولوجيا والمجتمع، وتحديد أثر متغير النوع الاجتماعي والمحافظة وعدد سنوات الخبرة وعدد ساعات استخدام الوسائل التكنولوجية لدى أفراد عينة الدراسة. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، أعدّ مقياس للوعي تكوّن من (54) عبارة مقسّمة إلى ثلاثة مكوّنات رئيسية هي: المكوّن المعرفي وتكوّن من (22) عبارة من نوع اختيار متعدّد، واشتمل المكوّن الوجداني على (17) عبارة، فيما تضمّن المكوّن السلوكي (15) عبارة، عرضت كلّها وفق التدرّج الخماسي. طبّقت على عينة تكوّنت من (204) معلّمين ومعلّمات من العاملين في المدارس الحكومية بالحلقة الثانية في كل من محافظة مسقط والباطنة شمال والباطنة جنوب. وتوصّلت الدراسة إلى أن مستوى الوعي العام بقضايا العلم والتكنولوجيا والمجتمع لدى معلّمي الدراسات الاجتماعية كان متوسّطا، فقد جاء متوسّطا في كلّ من المكوّن المعرفي والمكوّن السلوكي، بينما جاء مرتفعا في المكوّن الوجداني. وكشفت الدراسة عن عدم وجود أثر لكلّ من متغير النوع الاجتماعي، والمحافظة، وعدد سنوات الخبرة، وعدد ساعات استخدام الوسائل التكنولوجية على وعي أفراد العينة بقضايا العلم والتكنولوجيا والمجتمع. The study aimed to reveal the level of awareness of social studies teachers in the second cycle schools in the Sultanate of Oman about the issues of science, technology and society. In addition, the study attampts to determin the impact of the set of variables which is gender, governorate, the number of years of experience and the number of hours of using of technological means. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a measure of awareness scale was prepared consisting of (54) words divided into three main components: the cognitive component and consisted of (22) items of a multiple choice type; The emotional component consisted of 17 items, while the behavioral component included 15 items. The study applied to a sample of (204) male and female teachers of government schools in the second cycle in Muscat Governorate, Al Batinah North and Al Batinah South. The study found that the level of public awareness of science, technology and society issues among teachers of social studies was moderate, it was average in both the cognitive component and the behavioral component, while it was high in the emotional component. The study revealed that there was no impact of the variables of gender, the province, the number of years of experience, and the number of hours of using the means of technology on the social studies teachers' awareness of the issues of science and technology and society.
