هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تقصي أثر استخدام منحى القضايا العلمية الاجتماعية (SSI) في استيعاب المشكلات البيئية المعاصرة في ضوء الميول العلمية لدى طلبة جامعة البلقاء التطبيقية. تم اختيار أفراد عينة الدراسة قصدياً من طلبة كلية الأميرة رحمة الجامعية، وقد تم تعيينها إلى مجموعتين: مجموعة تجريبية درست وفق المنحى التدريسي (القضايا العلمية الاجتماعية)، ومجموعة ضابطة درست وفق الاستراتيجية الاعتيادية. تم تطبيق أداتين في الدراسة بعد التحقق من صدقهما وثباتهما، وهما: اختبار المشكلات البيئية المعاصرة الذي تضمن (25) فقرة من نوع الاختيار من متعدد، ومقياس الميول العلمية. وتم استخدام التحليل الثنائي المصاحب ANCOVA ذي التصميم (2X2) للإجابة عن أسئلة الدراسة واختبار فرضياتها الصفرية. وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن للمنحى التدريسي (القضايا العلمية الاجتماعية) أثر دال إحصائيا في استيعاب المشكلات البيئية المعاصرة وقد فسر ما نسبته (%52.7) من التباين في المتغير التابع، ووجود فرق ذي دلالة إحصائية في استيعاب المشكلات البيئية المعاصرة يعزى الميول العلمية، ووجود أثر ذي دلالة إحصائية يعزى للتفاعل بين المنحى التدريسي والميول العلمية في استيعاب المشكلات البيئية المعاصرة. وفي ضوء هذه النتائج أوصت الدراسة بتبني المنحى التدريسي (القضايا العلمية الاجتماعية) لأثرها في تعرف طلبة كلية الأميرة رحمة الجامعية على المشكلات البيئية المعاصرة واستيعابها. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of using the Socioscientific Issues Approach on the comprehension of current Environmental Problems in Light of Scientific Interests among Al-Balqa᾿ Applied University Students. The subjects of the study sample were chosen purposefully from the students of Princess Rahma University College that were selected from Al-Balqa᾿ Applied University Students whom were divided randomly into two groups: experimental group students whom were taught by the Socioscientific Issues Approach and the control group who were taught by the regular strategy. Two tools have been applied for the study after investigation from validity and reliability for them, namely: the test of current Environmental Problems which include (25) paragraph from multiple-choice type and Scientific Interests scale. And the two-way analysis ANCOVA (2X2) was used to answer questions study and test the null hypotheses of study. The study revealed the following results: the teaching Approach (Socioscientific Issues) has significant statistical effect on the comprehension of current Environmental Problems and explained (%52.7) of variance in the dependent variable and there was a significant statistical difference in the comprehension of current Environmental Problems attributed to Scientific Interests. And there was a significant statistical effect attributed to the interaction between a teaching Approach and Scientific Interests on the comprehension of current Environmental Problems. Due to these results; this study recommended adopting a teaching Approach (Socioscientific Issues) in science teaching due to their effect on the comprehension of current Environmental Problems among the students of Princess Rahma University College.
