يعد التميز الأكاديمي أحد التوجهات الحديثة في التعليم العالي لتحقيق الميزة التنافسية واستدامتها عبر تدفق مخرجات تنسجم مواصفاتها مع معايير التميز، ولذلك تولى الأقسام الأكاديمية بالجامعات أهمية كبرى في توجهاتها المستقبلية لتطوير برامجها بصفة عامة والدراسات العليا بصفة خاصة، وذلك كخطوة رئيسة في تطوير منظومة التعليم الجامعي وإحداث نقلة نوعية فيه وفقا لأحدث التوجهات العالمية المعاصرة، وذلك بهدف تحقيق التميز في مجمل عملياتها البحثية والتدريسية والإدارية. وعلى ذلك يهدف البحث الحالي إلى وضع تصور مقترح لتطوير منظومة الدراسات العليا بقسم أصول التربية بكلية التربية- جامعة بنها في ضوء فلسفة التميز الأكاديمى التي تفيد في فهم محدداته وأبعاده، وانطلاقاً من تحليل واقع الدراسات العليا بالقسم ونقده والوقوف على أهم جوانب القوة وأبرز جوانب القصور، ورسم صورة واقعية متكاملة أمكن الانطلاق منها في وضع تصور مقترح لتطوير الدراسات العليا انطلاقاً من فلسفة التميز الأكاديمي، وتميز البرامج، لتنعكس (أبعاده) ممثلة في التميز التعليمي ، والتميز البحثي بما يعود بالنفع على تميز القسم ذاته. Academic excellence is considered as one of the modern trends in higher education institutions that aims at achieving competitive advantage and its sustainability through the flow of outcomes that adapt to the standards of excellence. Therefore, the academic departments in universities pay great attention to develop their programs particularly postgraduate studies, as a major step towards the development of a university education system that is compatible with the latest international trends. Based on that, the current paper aims at developing a strategy for the development of the postgraduate program in the Department of Fundamentals of Education at the Faculty of Education in Benha University taking into account the academic excellence philosophy by understanding its determinants and dimensions. Additionally, we analyze of the reality of the graduate studies in the department to be able to form a proposed vision for the development of graduate studies based on the philosophy of academic excellence and its determinants. These determinants are represented by the culture of excellence, excellence management, the excellence of academic human resources, and programs excellence which will be positively influencing the dimensions of excellence represented by both of educational excellence, and research excellence.
