This study aimed at identifying the value of smiling and laughing through Quranic verses and Prophetic Hadiths, their importance in the field of education; and deducing some educational implications of this value. To achieve these aims, the deductive and the descriptive analytical approach were utilized. Results showed that smiling and laughing is an absolute value whose proofs have been narrated in the Quran and the Sunnah. The prophet (peace and blessing be with him) paid good attention to this value. The prophet (peace and blessing be with him) used this value in his daily life in educating his companions. It was used for delivering information, polishing attitudes and guiding behavior. Recommendations suggest the importance of using this value by teachers, parents and the community in order to achieve the aims of affective education. (Published abstract)
