هدف البحث الحالي إلى التعرف على واقع قيام الجامعة بدورها في نشر ثقافة العمل التطوعي بين طلابها، والتعرف على المتطلبات اللازم توافرها لقيام الجامعة بدورها في نشر ثقافة العمل التطوعي بين طلابها، والتعرف على المعوقات التي تحول دون قيام الجامعة بدورها في نشر ثقافة العمل التطوعي بين طلابها، وقد تكون مجتمع البحث من جميع أعضاء هيئة التدريس بالجامعات بالمملكة العربية السعودية. وقد اشتملت عينة البحث على (100) عضواً من (4) جامعات سعودية (جامعة الملك سعود، وجامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود، وجامعة شقراء، وجامعة جامعة الملك عبد العزيز بجدة)، واستخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي القائم على استبانة مكونة من (55) عبارة موزعة على ثلاثة محاور رئيسة، وقد توصل البحث إلى العديد من النتائج أهمها: جاء "واقع قيام الجامعة بدورها في نشر ثقافة العمل التطوعي بين طلابها" بدرجة متوسطة بمتوسط حسابي بلغ (3.37)، كما جاءت المتطلبات اللازم توفرها لقيام الجامعة بدورها في نشر ثقافة العمل التطوعي بين طلابها بدرجة استجابة عالية بمتوسط حسابي بلغ (3.55)،كما جاءت المعوقات التي تحول دون قيام الجامعة بدورها في نشر ثقافة العمل التطوعي بين طلابها بدرجة متوسطة بمتوسط حسابي بلغ (2.89)، وقد أوصى البحث باستقطاب الخبراء والمتخصصين في مجال العمل التطوعي لإلقاء محاضرات وندوات عن العمل التطوعي في الجامعات، والتنسيق بين مؤسسات التعليم العالي لطرح مساقات دراسية تتناول موضوعات العمل التطوعي لتعزيزه كثقافة مجتمعية. This study aimed at identifying the reality of the role of universities in disseminating the culture of voluntary work among their students, finding out the requirements needed for the university to play its role in disseminating the culture of voluntary work among its students and the constraints that prevent the university from playing its role in this field. The research population encompassed all teaching staff members in the universities of Saudi Arabia. And the research sample included (100) members from four Saudi Arabian universities (King Saud University, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Shaqra University, and King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah). The researcher used the descriptive approach depending on the questionnaire including (55) phrases divided into three main axes. The research has outlined several results that could be concluded according to their significance as follows: the phrase "The reality of the university role in disseminating the culture of voluntary work among its students" had a medium response rate with a mean of (3.37). The phrase "The requirements needed for the university to play its role in disseminating the culture of voluntary work among its students" had a high response rate with a mean of (3.55), while the phrase " The constraints and obstacles that prevent the university from playing its role in disseminating the culture of voluntary work among its students" had a medium response rate with a mean of (2.89). The research has also outlined a few recommendations including attracting more voluntary experts and specialists to give lectures and seminars regarding volunteerism in universities, and to coordinate with higher education institutions to help propose new studies that address volunteerism in order to enhance and promote it as an accepted culture within society as well.
