هدفت هذه الدراسة الكشف عن واقع البحث العلمي في الجامعة الأردنية بين الواقع والمأمول من وجهة نظر أعضاء هيئة التدريس في الجامعة الأردنية، وتحديد بعض معيقات البحث العلمي في الجامعة الأردنية، واقتراح بعض الحلول لتحسين مستوى البحث العلمي في الجامعة الأردنية. وقد اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج النوعي مستخدمة المقابلات في جمع البيانات، حيث بنت الباحثة أداة مقابلة شبه مفتوحة مكونة من (4) أسئلة وطبقتها على عينة مكونة من (23) عضو هيئة تدريس في الجامعة الأردنية، وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن واقع البحث العلمي في الجامعة الأردنية يتسم بعدد من الإيجابيات والسلبيات، وأن هناك معيقات متعددة تعيق البحث العلمي في الجامعة الأردنية، ووجود بعض الأدوار التي قد يقوم بها عضو هيئة التدريس لتحسين مستوى البحث العلمي، قد خلصت الدراسة إلى بعض المقترحات التي يمكن أن تسهم في تحسين مستوى البحث العلمي في الجامعة الأردنية. واوصت الدراسة بزيادة حجم إنفاق الدولة والقطاع الخاص على البحث العلمي. This study aimed to discover the reality of the scientific research in the University of Jordan between reality and prospective from the point of view of staff member in the University of Jordan, identifying some of scientific research barriers, suggestion some ideas to solve them to enhance the level of scientific research in the University Jordan, and the role of staff member in enhancing scientific research. The study adopted the qualitative approach using an interview to collect data, so the researcher built a tool for interview consisted of (3) questions, then she applied it upon (23) staff member in the University of Jordan. The study concluded that the reality of scientific research at the University of Jordan has positive and negative characters, and that there are many obstacles hindering scientific research at the University of Jordan. And there are many roles for university staff to enhance the level of scientific researches. The study concluded with some suggestions that could contribute to improving the level of scientific research at the University of Jordan. The study recommended increasing the financial budget spending by Jordan government and the private sector on scientific research. (Published abstract)
