هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن تأثير مقرر مقترح في الثقافة الجغرافية قائم على التعلم النشط في تنمية الوعى بالقضايا الجغرافية المعاصرة لدى الطالبة المعلمة غير المتخصصة، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة قامت الباحثة بإعداد قائمة بالقضايا الجغرافية المعاصرة، ثم وضع مقرر مقترح في الثقافة الجغرافية، وإعداد دليل للمعلم، واختبار تحصيلي ومقياس للوعي بالقضايا الجغرافية المعاصرة. وفى ضوء نتائج الدراسة تبين وجود درجة تأثير كبيرة للمقرر المقترح في تنمية التحصيل المعرفي والوعي بالقضايا الجغرافية المعاصرة وفي ضوء نتائج الدراسة توصى الدراسة بتطوير برامج إعداد معلم الشعب العلمية لتنمية الثقافة الجغرافية. This study aimed at developing awareness of current geographical issues by using a suggested course in geographic literacy based on active learning for unspecialized student-teacher. To achieve the aims of the study the researcher prepared a list of current geographical issues, a suggested course in geographical literacy, teacher's manual as a guide, an achievement test and the scale tools for current geographical issues. In the light of findings of the study, there is a big effect for a suggested course in geographic literacy at developing awareness of current geographical issues. In the light of findings of the study, it recommended to develop programs for preparing the teachers of scientific departments in geographic literacy. (Published abstract)
