هدفت الدراسة للكشف عن الإشاعة كظاهرة مسببة لانتشار العنف بالجامعات الأردنية من وجهة نظر الطلبة الجامعيين، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من 252 طالبا وطالبة بالجامعات الحكومية والخاصة في الفصل الدراسي الأول من العام الجامعي 2014-2015. تم تطبيق استبانة أعدت لهذه الغاية تم التحقق من معايير الصدق والثبات لها، أظهرت نتائج الدراسة العوامل المؤدية للإشاعة وأشكال الإشاعة المنتشرة بالجامعات الأردنية كما بينت نتائج الدراسة الآثار العدوانية الناتجة عن الإشاعة سواء على سلوك الطلبة أو البيئة الجامعية التعليمية والمجتمع بشكل عام وبناء على نتائج الدراسة قدمت الباحثة عدد من التوصيات وهي: تفعيل قانون العقوبات الجامعية، نشر الوعي حول جريمة الإشاعة وزيادة الأنشطة الطلابية اللامنهجية، تدريس مساق إجباري لطلبة الجامعة حول أسلوب التعايش الآمن والأخلاقي وإجراء مزيد من الدراسات حول هذا الموضوع. This study aimed to show the relation between Rumor Phenomenon and violence in Jordanian universities according to theuniversities students’ perspective, Study sample was 252 male and female students at publicand private universities at the first semester of the academic year 2014-2015. A questionnaire was prepared for this purpose which was Verified of honesty and fortitude standards, The study’s results showed the factors leading to rumor, rumor’s types in Jordanian universities and the aggressive effects of rumor on student's behavior, academic environment and society in general, And based on the results of the study the researcher made a number of recommendations: Make the Penal code of universities more effective, Raise awareness about the rumor’s effects, Make morestudents’ extracurricular activities, Obligatory course which explain the safe coexistence at the university and Do further Studies on this topic.
