هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن المشكلات التي تعاني منها البيئة ومستوى وعي طلبة كلية العلوم في جامعة اليرموك بهذه المشكلات من وجهه نظرهم أنفسهم واثر كل من الجنس والتخصص الدراسي في هذا المستوى. تألفت عينة الدراسة من (78) طالبا وطالبة من طلبة السنة الرابعة في كلية العلوم وفي تخصصات: الفيزياء و الكيمياء والعلوم الحياتية و علوم الأرض، ولتحقيق أهداف هذه الدراسة تم إعداد وتطوير" مقياس المشكلات البيئية والوعي بها" والذي تألف من (40) فقرة تم الإجابة عنها وفقا لأسلوب ليكرت الخماسي، وغطت هذه الفقرات خمسة مجالات للمشكلات التي يمكن للبيئة أن تعاني منها وهي: استنزاف الموارد الطبيعية وانحسارها، والمشكلة السكانية، والتلوث البيئي، والموارد الطبيعية، والمعتقدات البيئية وحماية البيئة. وقد أظهرت النتائج أن أفراد عينة الدراسة يمتلكون مستوى وعي متوسط بالمشكلات التي تعاني منها البيئة في مجال المشكلة السكانية بينما يمتلكون مستوى وعي مرتفع في المجالات الأربع الأخرى، كما أشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى عدم وجود أثر للجنس في هذا المستوى في حين وجد اثر لتخصص الطالب ولصالح طلبة تخصصي علوم الأرض والعلوم الحياتية. وقد خرجت الدراسة بجملة من التوصيات. This study aimed to determine the problems that the environment suffers' from them and the level of awareness of these problems among students of faculty of science in Yarmouk university. A random sample of (78) students were chosen in specialization: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geology. Questionnaire consists of (40) items was developed to gather data, these items covered five problems the environment suffers' from them. The collected data were analyzed statistically by using (SPSS) program. The results of the study revealed that the environment suffers’ from five problems which are: natural resources, environmental pollution, decrease and damage of natural resources, population problem and protect the environment and environmental attitudes. The results also revealed that the level of environmental awareness among the study sample was moderate with respect to the population problem, whereas this level was high for the other four problems. The results also revealed that there was no statistically significant difference in level of environmental awareness due to gender of students, whereas there were statistically significant differences due to the specialization of the students for the benefit of geology and biology students. Finally the study showed numbers of related recommendations. (Published Abstract)
