The purpose of the current study was to examine the effects of using Mosston and Ashworths’ style (Reciprocal) of teaching basketball on physical education students’ creative thinking abilities. The sample consisted of (20) undergraduate physical education male and female students from the Faculty of Physical Education at The University of Jordan. The participants enrolled in a required undergraduate course of basketball level (3) class during the second semester of 2009/2010. The research utilized means, standard deviations, and independent T Test. The results of data analysis indicated that there were significant differences between the pre and the posttests in the participants’ creative thinking abilities with respect to the dimensions of social, dislike routine, efficiency, and facing problems, and with respect to the overall dimensions, students scored higher in post-test. However, there was no significant difference between the pre and the posttests with respect to the independence dimension. The results also showed that there were no significant differences between male and female students’ creative thinking abilities. (Author's abstract)
