هدفت الدراسة للتعرف على درجة فاعلية الإرشاد التربوي في المدارس الثانوية الحكومية في الأردن من وجهة نظر مديري المدارس ومقترحاتهم لتحسينها. تكونت عينة الدراسة من 114 مديراً تم اختيارهم بالطريقة العشوائية الطبقية، وهم من مديرية الطفيلة في الجنوب، وعمان الأولى من الوسط، وعجلون من الشمال . طور الباحث، لهذا الغرض استبانة مكونة من 23 فقرة موزعة على ثلاثة مجالات وهي العلاقة مع الإدارة، والعلاقة مع الطلبة، العلاقة مع أولياء الأمور. وللإجابة عن أسئلة الدراسة، استخدم الباحث المتوسطات الحسابية ودرجة الفاعلية لكل فقرة ولكل مجال من مجالاتها. توصلت الدراسة إلى النتائج الآتية: 1) أن درجة فاعلية الإرشاد التربوي في المدارس الثانوية الحكومية من وجهة نظر مديري المدارس كانت منخفضة في المجالات ككل. 2) إن درجة فاعلية الإرشاد التربوي في المدارس الثانوية الحكومية من وجهة نظر مديري المدارس كانت متوسطة في مجال العلاقة مع الإدارة المدرسية ومنخفضة في مجالي العلاقة مع الطلبة والعلاقة مع أولياء الأمور. قدم مدراء المدارس مجموعة من المقترحات لتحسين فاعلية الإرشاد التربوي، من أهمها: 1) عقد دورات تدريبية للمرشدين التربويين. 2) التأكيد على مهام المرشد التربوي كما نصت عليها التعليمات. 3) أن يكون المرشد التربوي تابعا إلى اخصتاصيين في المديرية لمراقبة أدائه وعلاقته مع مدير المدرسة إدارياً فقط. 4) أن يتم عمل برنامج إرشادي يلتقي فيه مع الطلبة ضمن حصص إرشادية. 5) أن يكون إنجاز المرشد التربوي عملياً ضمن أسس ترقيته. أوصت الدراسة بمجموعة من التوصيات أهمها: 1) إجراء عدد من الدراسات حول فاعلية الإرشاد التربوي خاصة التي كانت نتائجها في الدراسة بدرجة منخفضة للوقوف على الأسباب التي تكمن وراء تدني فاعلية الإرشاد التربوي. 2) على وزارة التربية والتعليم أن تلزم المرشد والمدير القيام بالأعمال الموكلة إليهم ضمن التعليمات. The study sought to identify both the educational counseling effectiveness degree in governmental secondary schools in Jordan, from the point of view of principals and their suggestions for improving it. The study sample involved 114 principals selected by the stratified random sampling from educational directorates of Tafila in the south, Amman the First, in the center and Ajloun in the north of Jordan. The researcher designed for this purpose, a questionnaire of 23 items distributed on three variables, namely, the relationship with the administration, and the relationship with the students, the relationship with the parents. To answer questions of the study, the researcher used mean scores and the degree of effectiveness of each item and its variable. The study showed, according to the principals involved by the study, that the degree of effectiveness of educational counseling: in the governmental schools was generally low in the three areas, but it was intermediate for the relationship with the school administration, low for the relationship with the students and for the relationship with the parents. The school principals put forward a set of proposals to enhance the effectiveness of the educational counseling, the most important of which: 1) Holding training sessions for education counselors. 2) Emphasizing the educational counselor tasks as stipulated in the instructions. 3) The educational counselor should report to specialists in the educational directorate who monitor his performance, and his/her relationship with the school principal should be administrative only. 4) There should be a counseling schedule for sessions in which the counselor meets with students for counseling. 5) The counselor promotion should be based upon his practical achievement. The study recommended that: 1) A number of studies pertaining to the areas with low degree of effectiveness of the counseling to find out the reasons for the low effect of the educational counseling. 2) The Ministry of Education should commit the educational counselor and the school principal to carry out the tasks entrusted to both of them within the instructions.
