The study aimed to investigate the role of extracurricular activities in social skills development among the fourth basic grade students from their teacher’s point of view in the capital Amman governorate, and to investigate the differences between means of fourth basic class teachers and the contribution of extracurricular activities in social skills development due to gender, specialization and education qualification. The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach because of its relevance for the purposes of the study. After studying the educational literature, the researcher developed a questionnaire for the role of extracurricular activities in the development of social skills. Social skills scale was developedbased on Earls (2009), Al-Hawyan (2011) Qatawneh, 2014scales. The study population consisted of all teachers in the capital governorate amounting 3262 teachers. The questionnaire was applied to a random sample totaling 530 teachers, The data were analyzed by using SPSS. The study found that there is an impact of extra-curricular activities in social skills development of among fourth basic class students from their teachers point of view and there were significant differences at the level of (α = 0.05) in the effect of extracurricular activities in developing social skills among fourth basic class students from their teachers point of view due to gender variable for the favor of female teachers. And there are differences of statistical significance at the level of significance (α = 0.05) in the impact of extra-curricular activities in the development of social skills due to education level. The study recommended to reviewthe daily academic table to allow the practice of extra-curricular activities in high degree. (Published Abstract)
