تهدف الدراسة لمعرفة مدى انتشار التسويف الأكاديمي بين الطلبة بجامعة طيبة، وعلاقة التسويف الأكاديمي بالأفكار اللاعقلانية لديهم، ومن ثم الكشف عن الفروق في مستوى التسويف الأكاديمي والأفكار اللاعقلانية باختلاف جنس الطالب والتخصص الأكاديمي. ولتحقيق ذلك تم استخدام المقياس العربي للتسويف من إعداد (عبد الخالق والدغيم 2011)، ومقياس الأفكار اللاعقلانية الذي قام بتعريبه وتعديله للبيئة الأردنية (الريحاني، 1985، 1987). وتمثلت العينة في 556 طالبًا 242 ذكور، 317 إناث) للعام الجامعي 1436ه. وتوصلت النتائج إلى أن نسبة المسوّفين 47.5% من الذكور و66.6% من الإناث و58.3% من العينة الكلية، وجاءت نسبة المسوفين من الكليات الإنسانية: 87.3%، و12.9% من الكليات العلمية. وتبين وجود ارتباط دال للتسويف الأكاديمي بالأفكار اللاعقلانية بلغ 0.137 للعينة الكلية، و0.247 لعينة الطلاب عند مستوى ،0.01 في حين لم تكن معاملات ارتباط دالة لعينات الطالبات والكليات العلمية والكليات الإنسانية. ولم يظهر تأثير دال لمتغير الجنس على التسويف الأكاديمي، ويوجد تأثير دال لمتغير التخصص، وللتفاعل بين الجنس والتخصص على التسويف الأكاديمي؛ في حين يوجد تأثير دال إحصائياً لكل من متغير الجنس والتخصص وللتفاعل بينهما على الأفكار اللاعقلانية. وتوصي الباحثة بتقديم برامج لتدريب الطلاب على كيفية التغلب على التسويف من خلال تعديل الأفكار اللاعقلانية، كذلك توصي بإجراء بحوث نوعية عن أسباب انتشار التسويف في مراحل عمرية مختلفة وفي مجالات أخرى في المجتمع. The study aims at knowing the prevalence of the academic procrastination among students at Taibah University, its relationship with their irrational thoughts and then investigates the differences in the levels of academic procrastination and irrational thoughts according to gender and academic specialization. To achieve this, the Arabic scale for procrastination was used, a scale designed by Abdalkhaleq and Al-Doghaim 2011, and irrational thoughts scale which was translated and modified by Al-Rayhani (1985-1987). The study was conducted on a sample of 556: male=242, female=314 in the academic year 1436. The results indicated that the percentage of male procrastinators was 47.5 and female 66.6. The percentage of procrastinators from faculty of arts and humanities 87.3 and only 12.9 from faculties of sciences. The findings showed a statistical correlation between academic procrastination and irrational thoughts 0.137 for the total sample and 0.247 for students at the 0.00 level of significance. However, there was no statistical significant correlation for female sample of faculties of humanities and sciences. There IS no statistical significance effect of gender on academic procrastination whereas there was statistical significance effect of the specialization variable and the interaction between them on academic procrastination. There were also statistical signifi¬cance of gender and specialization and the interaction between them on irrational thoughts. The studies researcher recommends offering programs to train students about how to overcome procrastination throw adjusting the irrational thoughts, also to execute specific searches about the reasons of spreading procrastination in different ages and in other areas of the community.
