This research tackied the effect of iack of Iodine substance on the mental cognitive development and academic performance for a study has been conducted to find out the effect of the lack of Iodine on both brain and the learning acquiring knowledge, the researcher in order to reach this aim has adopted a descriptive analysis method that is based on field study. The research population included the effected and non – effected by the lack of consisting of (720) students for six schools in Nyala city, from which the researcher has chosen a hundred students by a random stage method but the tools or equipments being used in this study enlargement of thyroid (Thyroid Fustian Test) (T3 ,T4, Tsh) and the learning acquiring test by the determination of the examination degrees by the year for the individual samples, and of test the application of the used measures, the research has analysed all the particularities by using Chi (Sig) test and og the particularities have been treated statistically, the study has discovered the following findings: 1) There are differences of statistical significance in the marks of the affected and non – affected students by the lack of Iodine and this variation is for the side og the non – affected students. 2) The availability of statistical response between the Iodine lack change and the genders change whereas the results made it clear that there is no statistical meaning between the gender change and the acquiring study the study also discovered that there is connective relationship that has a statistical meaning between the Iodine lack and the brain acquiring growth and acquiring study, and on the basis of the above mentioned results that the study has discovered the following: 1) The Iodine lake Leads to late of both body and brain growth and this leads to the difficulty of the learning acquiring, growth and this leads to the difficulty of the learning acquiring. The lack of lodine causes the weakness of the brain. 2) The lack of lodine in soil, and feeding is considered as the most major reason for the bigness of the Thyroid. 3) The Disease of the Thyroid is the widest spread among female students than then male student. According to the results mentioned above the researcher has introduced some recommendations and suggestion that should be appied for future studies. The most important one is the necessity of both psychological and social guide of a specialist, physician for looking after the students, health situation, by providing their educational growth requirements by in introducing a culturalguidance and remedies programmers for obtaining the brain growth in educational sphere.
