الهدف: الغرض الرئيسي من هذه الدراسة هو الحصول إجابة على السؤال ماذا، ومتى، ولماذا يقرأ طلاب المدارس الثانوية في محافظة الغربية الصحف المدرسية؟ وعلى ذلك فقد تم تصميم استمارة الدراسة الميدانية من أجل الكشف عن دوافعهم للقراءة، وجوانب تفضيلهم للقراءة، وكذلك الأسباب التي تحول دون قراءتهم لهذه الصحف. النتائج: إن 76.6% من أفراد العينة المبحوثة يقرأون الصحف المدرسية، وفي المقابل فإن 23.4% منهم لا يقرأون الصحف المدرسية، كما أشارت النتائج إلى تفوق الذكور على الإناث في قراءة الصحف المدرسية، حيث بلغت نسبة الذكور الذين يقرأون 78%، مقابل 69.2% من الإناث، وتبين أن طلاب التعليم الثانوي يقبلون على قراءة الصحف المدرسية بنسب مرتفعة، أما أولئك الذين لا يقرأون الصحف منهم يرون أن السبب في ذلك هو عدم وجود الوقت الكافي، وإلى عدم ملاءمة محتوى الموضوعات المنشورة لرغباتهم وميولهم وبنسبة 13%، وأن صحيفة "الفناء" ما زالت في المقدمة من حيث عدد القراء، كما أنها من أكثر الصحف قراءة عند أفراد العينة المبحوثة، وبنسبة 3.48%. وأشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى أن أكثر الأماكن تفضيلا لقراءة الصحيفة هي فناء المدرسة ثم المكتبة، وأن أفضل الأوقات للقراءة هي الفسحة. ويمكن أن يكون سبب ذلك إلى أن الكثير من القراء يطالعون الصحيفة بعد خروجهم للفسحة مباشرة، وعن الإشباعات المتحققة من قراءة المبحوثين للصحف، أشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى أن قراءتهم للصحف تمكنهم من متابعة الأحداث الداخلية والخارجية، وتطلعهم على تحليلات القضايا والأحداث، وتزيد من ثقافتهم ووعيهم، وتساعدهم في الاسترخاء وقضاء أوقات الفراغ، وأن المضامين السياسية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية هي الأكثر قراءة عند أفراد العينة المبحوثة. وأن استخدام الصحيفة للصور والألوان يساعد كثيرا في لفت انتباه القارئ إلى الموضوعات الصحفية المنشورة فيها. Aims: this main goal of this study is to have an answer for the following question: what, when, and why do students of secondary school in Al-Gharbia read school newspaper? Hence, a field study document has been designed to find their motives for reading and their preferences also, the reasons that prevent them from reading them. Results: the most significant results of the study are: 76.6% of the students read school newspaper, while 23.4% of them do not, results also show that males exceeded females in Reading the newspaper. (The ratio was: 78% males vs. 69.2% females), A high rate of secondary school students read newspapers, where those who do not read 13% think the reason beyond that is neither having time nor the appropriacy of the content to their taste, The “School Yard” newspaper is still the supreme regarding the number of readers It is also highly read 48.3% by the students of the sample. Results show that the best place to read the newspaper is the School yard, followed by the library. The best time to read is the break and that is because most readers read as soon as they get a break. Regarding the desires fulfilled out of reading the newspapers, results showed that; Reading the newspapers enable them to follow the Internet & external affairs and be acquainted with the analysis of the current events and issues. It increases their cultural orientation and help them to relax and spend their time. The political, social and economic contents are the most widely read by the sample of students. Using photo and colors help to attract the readers’ attention to the topics published in the journals. (Published abstract)
