تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إلقاء الضوء على طبيعة ظاهرة العجز المتعلم لكونها إحدى الظاهرات ذات التأثير السلبي البالغ على الإنسان، كما تستهدف الكشف عن علاقة العجز المتعلم بكل من الغضب، وخيبة الأمل، والفراغ الوجودي، واللوم، والعدائية، والتعرف على إمكانية اعتبار تلك المتغيرات ذات قيمة تنبؤية بحالة العجز المتعلم. تم تطبيق الدراسة على عينة من الطلاب الجامعيين بالدرجة الجامعية الأولى والدراسات العليا بكلية التربية - جامعة عين شمس، بلغت 297 طالبا وطالبة، وذلك باستخدام مقياسي العجز المتعلم ومنبآت العجز المتعلم. وقد أظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة إرتباطية بين أبعاد العجز المتعلم ودرجته الكلية بين الأبعاد الخمسة: الغضب، وخيبة الأمل، والفراغ الوجودي، واللوم، والعدائية. في حين كشفت أبعاد خيبة الأمل، والغضب، والفراغ الوجودي فقط أنها ذات قدرة تنبؤية بالعجز المتعلم. وتمت مناقشة مفهوم العجز المتعلم في ضوء التطورات التي طرأت على تراثه النظري، ما أسفر عن اقتراح تعديلات في الطرح النظري للظاهرة. The aim of this study is to shed light on the nature of learned helplessness as a phenomenon that has morbid influences affecting human personality. It aims also to assess the relationship between learned helplessness and anger, disappointment, existential vacuum, blame and hostility. Mainly, the study aims to assess the predictive value of these variables. Sample of the study consisted of 297 of undergraduate and postgraduate students in Faculty of Education-Ain Shams University. Learned helplessness scale and learned helplessness predictors scale were used. Results revealed significant relationship between learned helplessness and all five variables, but only disappointment, anger and existential vacuum had predictive value to learned helplessness. The concept of learned helplessness has been discussed reaching some modifications in the light of subject’s literature developments. (Published abstract)
