تهدف الدارسة الحالية إلى استقصاء مدى تضمن محتوى كتب العلوم للمرحلة الأساسية العليا ( للصفين التاسع والعاشر) في فلسطين للمعايير العالمية، تكون مجتمع الدراسة من كتابي العلوم العامة لصفي التاسع والعاشر الأساسي التي تدرس حاليا في المدارس الفلسطينية وحجمها (515) صفحة، وقد اشتملت عينة الدراسة على 10% من الوحدات تم اختيارها بالطريقة العشوائية الطبقية، استخدمت الباحثة أداتين لتحليل محتوى كتب العلوم وفق المعايير العالمية، تكونت الأداة الاولى من مجالات خمسة، أما الأداة الثانية فتكونت من ثلاث موضوعات، ووصف لكل منها الملامح الدالة على اشتمالها في كتب العلوم، تمّ تحليل محتوى عينة الدراسة وحساب التكرارات والنسب المئوية للمجالات والموضوعات العلمية المتضمنة في محتوى كتب العلوم. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة ما يأتي : أن كتب العلوم للصفين التاسع والعاشر الأساسي قد اشتملت بدرجات عالية على مجال دمج المفاهيم مع عمليات العلم، ثم مجال العلم كعملية استقصائية، ثم مجال تاريخ العلم وطبيعته، ثم مجال العلم من منظور فردي واجتماعي، وجاء في المرتبة الأخيرة مجال العلم والتكنولوجيا، كما أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن كتب العلوم المحللة قد اشتملت بدرجات عالية على علم الحياة، يليه العلوم الفيزيائية، وأخيرا علم الأرض والفضاء الذي اقتصر وجوده في محتوى كتاب العلوم للصف التاسع فقط. This study aims at investigating the extent to which the textbooks of general science for the upper primary stag at Palestine meet international standard. The study deals with the two general science textbooks for the ninth and tenth grades which are currently taught at the Palestinian public schools. The two textbooks have 515 pages. The study sample involves 10 % of the units which were selected according to the stratified random method. The researcher has employed two tools to analyze the content of the two books in accordance to international standards. The first tool consists of three topics for each one; the features indicating its presence in the books were described. The content of the study sample was analyzed and the frequencies as well as the percentages of the scientific aspects and topics involved in the content of the two textbooks were calculated. The study came up with the following conclusions: the two textbooks of general science for both the ninth and tenth grades involved to a high extent the following aspect respectively: 1) the aspect of concept integration with the scientific progresses, the aspect of science as an concept integration with the investigative process, the aspect of science history and nature, the aspect of science from an individual and a social view, and finally the aspect of science and technology. 2) The two analyzed textbooks involved to a great extent biology, physics, and finally geology and space study which were limited to the content of the ninth grade science book only.
