The study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of using a program via electronic blogs with participatory learning style versus competitive learning to acquire the instruction technology department students' ( independent - dependent) the employment skills of the second generation web applications in education. The sample consisted of 60 students of the instruction technology department students', Faculty of Education, Tafahna Branch, Al-Azhar University. The sample was divided into four experimental groups: Group (1) participatory learning with independent cognitive style, Group (2) participatory learning with dependent cognitive style, Group (3) competitive learning with independent cognitive learning style, and Group (4) competitive learning with dependent cognitive learning style. Each group consisted of (15) students. The study used a cognitive achievement test and a checklist for the employment skills of the second generation web applications in Education. Also, it adopted the experimental design to achieve the results. Results of the study indicated at the effectiveness of using both learning styles: participatory and competitive via electronic blogs, regardless the cognitive style (independent-dependent ) in the achievement and performance of the sample of the study. The participatory learning students with electronic blogs outperformed the competitive learning students, regardless the cognitive style (independent-dependent) on the achievement and performance of the sample of the study. The results also revealed that the superiority of students with dependent cognitive style to the students with independent cognitive style, regardless the learning style (participatory-competitive) on achievement and performance. Furthermore, the results revealed that there was no effect for interaction or combined effect for both variables learning styles (participatory competitive) and cognitive learning style (independent-dependent) on the achievement and performance of the sample of the study.
