هدفت الدراسة إلى تقييم كتب التربية الاجتماعية والوطنية للمرحلة الأساسية العليا في الأردن وفق معايير تتضمن مفاهيم وقيم اجتماعية ووطنية من وجهة نظر المعلمين، ولتحقيق هذا الهدف فقد تم إعداد استبانة تضمنت ثمانية عشر فقرة، وكل فقرة منها تضمنت عدداً من المفاهيم معلماً ومعلمةً (64) والقيم الاجتماعية والوطنية، وقد تم التأكد من صدقها وثباتها بالطرق الإحصائية المناسبة، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من لمناهج التربية الاجتماعية والوطنية للمرحلة الأساسية العليا في محافظة الطفيلة في الأردن. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن تقديرات أفراد عينة الدراسة على درجة توافر المفاهيم والقيم الاجتماعية والوطنية الواردة في فقرات الأداة التي حصلت على (13) ككل قد جاءت بدرجة متوسطة، وأن معظم فقرات الأداة قد حصلت على تقديرات متوسطة ومرتفعة باستثناء الفقرة رقم تقدير متدني، كما أشارت النتائج إلى عدم وجود أثر جوهري لاختلاف الجنس والخبرة التدريسية والتفاعل بينهما على تقديرات المعلمين لدرجة توافر المفاهيم والقيم الاجتماعية والوطنية في محتوى كتب التربية الاجتماعية والوطنية للمرحلة الأساسية العليا. The purpose of this study was to assess the social and national education textbooks for the upper basic stage against a list of social and national concepts and values from teachers' perspectives. To attain this purpose, a 28-item questionnaire was developed; each item included a number of social and national concepts and values. Psychometrics of the instruments was established as appropriate. The sample of the study included 64 teachers for social and national studies for the upper basic stage in Tafila of Jordan. The study concluded that the teachers' estimate of the availability of the concepts and values in the contents of the social and national education textbooks for the upper basic stage was medium on the entire measure; a high percentage of the items of the measure, also, estimated medium with the exception of item 13 which scored low. Additionally, the results indicated no significant difference that could be attributed to teachers' sex, experience and interaction between sex and experience in the teachers' estimates to the availability of social and national concepts and values in the social and national education textbooks for the upper basic stage. Recommended employing learning course strategy in the development of creative thinking skills among students. (Published Abstract)
