تتناول هذه الدراسة تحليل أنشطة العمل الثنائي المتضمنة في الكتاب"Q: Skills for Success"، كتاب الاستماع والتحدث، مستوى المقدمة- طبعة خاصة لطلاب السنة التحضيرية بجامعة طيبة في المملكة العربية السعودية. والهدف من هذه الدراسة هو التعرف على مدى احتواء الكتاب على أنشطة العمل الثنائي التي تنشد تطوير مهارة التحدث باللغة الإنجليزية لدى طلبة السنة التحضيرية في جامعة طيبة. حاولت الدراسة معرفة مدى تضمين كتاب "Q: Skills for Success" Listening and Speaking Introduction Book، أنشطة العمل الثنائي التي تهدف إلى تطوير مهارة التحدث لدى طلبة السنة التحضيرية في جامعة طيبة في المملكة العربية السعودية. تم استخدام التكرار والنسبة المئوية لعرض النتائج المتعلقة بسؤال الدراسة وتوضيحها. كشفت نتائج التحليل أن أنشطة العمل الثنائي في الكتاب تتضمن أنشطة بدرجة جيدة، وأن الأنشطة تشجّع الطلاب على ممارسة التحدث بشكل فعّال، وتؤدي إلى تطوير مهارة التحدث باللغة الإنجليزية. Preparatory Year Program at Taibah University in Madinah uses different textbooks and resources to improve students’ English language level in general. One of these books is entitled “Q: Skills for Success: Listening and Speaking Introduction Level - Special Edition”. This paper analyzes the content of this book and the extent to which it integrates pair-work activities that develop students’ speaking skills. The researcher used descriptive statistics; namely frequencies and percentages to determine the study results. The research question was discussed quantitatively and qualitatively. Findings revealed the presence of a good percentage of pair work activities dedicated to develop students’ speaking skill. Also, results showed that such activities seem to motivate students to practice and ultimately enhance their speaking skills. (Published Abstract)
