هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرُّف على مدى ممارسة أعضاء هيئة التدريس بكلية الجبيل الجامعية لآداب الحوار، والأساليب التي يستخدمونها في تنمية آداب الحوار لدى طلبتهم، وإلى أي مدى تختلف وجهات نظرهم تبعا لمتغيّرات كالجنس، والتخصص، والمستوى الدراسي. استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من 301 من الطلاب والطالبات، موزعين على تخصصات الكلية المختلفة، وبمستويات الطلبة الدراسية الأربعة. وكان عدد الذكور 69 طالبا، وعدد الإناث 232 طالبة. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، استخدم الباحث استبانة تم تطويرها بعد مراجعة الأدب التربوي، وتم التحقق من صدقها وثباتها. وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى أن درجة ممارسة الحوار بين الأستاذ والطلبة جاءت بدرجة متوسطة، وجاء دور عضو هيئة التدريس في تنمية آداب الحوار بدرجة متوسطة أيضا. وأظهرت النتائج أيضا وجود فرق دال إحصائيا بين أفراد عينة الدراسة يعزى لمتغير الجنس (وجد فرق دال إحصائيا في المحور الأول: واقع ممارسة الحوار بين الأستاذ وتلاميذه في كلية الجبيل الجامعية، وكان الفرق لصالح الذكور؛ بينما لم يوجد فرق دال إحصائيا بين الذكور والإناث في محور دور الأستاذ الجامعي في تنمية آداب الحوار بين الطلبة). This study was conducted to explore the extent to which faculty members at Jubail University College (JUC) are committed to the culture of dialogue, as well as the methods they employ to promote dialogue among their students. The study sought to identify students’ perceptions of that role and the extent to which such perceptions differ based on certain variables; namely: students’ gender, major and study level. Descriptive analysis approach was employed in developing a survey based on related literature review. Having ensured its reliability and credibility, the survey was administered to a population sample of 301 students (69 males and 232 females), representing the four levels of JUC students. Findings revealed an average level of dialogue between students and instructors. Similar results were identified in instructors’ role to promote the culture of dialogue. Findings have shown the presence of statistically significant differences in the current standing of dialogue that can be attributed to the gender variable in favor of male students. Nonetheless, there were no statistically significant differences that could be attributed to the gender factor in the role of instructors in promoting culture of dialogue among students.
