لاحظت مجموعة البحث من خلال العمل في مجال الإعلام التعليمي، ومن خلال الاطلاع على دراسات وأبحاث سابقة، أن أغلب الدراسات العلمية ركزت على دور التلفيزيون التعليمي، وكان هناك اهتمام كبير من الباحثين بدراسة مختلف قنواته وفئات ومراحل جمهوره المستهدف؛ بينما قل اهتمامهم بدور الصحف التعليمية رغم ما تحظى به من مميزات. الأهمية: تتناول الدراسة مجالاً من أهم مجالات بناء الإنسان، وهو التعليم، والذي يعد العصب الرئيسي للتنمية في كل المجتمعات وخاصة المجتمعات النامية في ظل عالم سريع متغير، كما ينال هذا المجال في مصر كل اهتمام الأسرة المصرية؛ ويتعاظم هذا الاهتمام مع استنزافه لمعظم موارد ودخل الأسرة في ظل الظروف الراهنة، باعتباره استثمارا بشريا لأبنائهم، لينالوا مكانة اجتماعية أرقى، ونصيباً أوفر وأفضل في فرص العمل. الهدف: تسعى الدراسة إلى تحقيق هدف رئيسي هو التعرف على دوافع استخدام طلاب الثانوية العامة للنماذج التعليمية بالصحف المصرية والإشباعات التي تحققها لهم. العينة: تم إجراء الدراسة على عينة قوامها 400 مفردة لطلاب الثانوية العامة (بنين وبنات، حكومي وخاص). النتائج: خلص البحث إلى عدد من النتائج أهمها: أنه توجد فروق دالة إحصائيا بين الذكور والإناث في درجة المتابعة للنماذج التعليمية في الصحف، في حين أنه لا توجد فروق دالة إحصائياً بين المبحوثين في درجة متابعتهم للنماذج التعليمية في الصحف بحسب نوع التعليم.
