هدفت الدراسة الى التعرف على دور المدرسة في خدمة المجتمع المحلي في مدينة دمشق. وتطويره في ظل بعض الاتجاهات التربوية الحديثة، واستخدمت المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتم اختيار عينة مكونة من 230 مدرساً ومدرسة كما استخدمت لذلك استبياناً مكوناً من 6 مجالات، وبعد تحليل النتائج وتفسيرها تبين أن دور المدرسة في المجالين (الثقافي والتوعية الأسرية) كان إيجابياً ودالاً، وفي مجال (الخدمات الإنسانية والاجتماعية، والتواصل بين المدرسة والمجتمع) كان ضمن المتوسط العام، أما في مجال (التعليم المستمر، والتنمية الاقتصادية) فقد كان دورها ضعيفاً ومتدنياً. كما أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فروق ذوات دلالة إحصائية بين مجالات الاستبيان بالنسبة لمتغيرات (الجنس، التخصص العلمي، المؤهل العلمي) وإلى وجود فروق ذوات دلالة بالنسبة للمجالات (الثقافي- التوعية الأسرية- التعليم المستمر- التنمية الاقتصادية) لصالح خبرة أكثر من 10 سنوات. وتقترح الباحثة: 1) تشجيع أفراد المجتمع المحلي على التواصل والتفاعل مع المدرسة في مجال الخدمات الإنسانية والاجتماعية للمجتمع المحلي. 2) وضع إمكانيات المدرسة المادية والبشرية في خدمة المجتمع المحلي. 3) تفعيل التعاون بين المدرسة وأصحاب القطاعات الإنتاجية والخدمية في خدمة المجتمع المحلي. The role of school in local community service and improve it in light some new education directions field study in Damascus city, this study aimed at showing the role of school in serving the local community in Damascus city and the impact of some variables in this role and present some new education directions, and suggests in light it. The researcher used the analytical descriptive method, a sample of 230 male and female teachers was taken randomly and as class. The researcher used a questionnaire consisting of 6 fields, After analyzing & explanation of the results, it was shown that the role of School in cultural & enlightenment fields of the families was positive and significant. And it was within the range of general average reading human and social services fields as well as the communication between school and community, where it was also within the range of general average. However, the role was weak and low in continues learning & economical development fields. The results also showed no statistical significant differences between the questionnaire fields regarding variables such as (sex, academic major, academic qualifications). However the number of experience years showed a significant difference regarding the (cultural, familial guidance, continuous learning, and economic development) fields in the favor of more than 10 years of experience. The result which the researcher comes up with are: 1) Encourage the local community members to communicate and interact with school in human and social services fields. 2) Encourage cooperation between school and institution of society. 3) Make studies to improve the role of school in local community service.
