هدف البحث الحالي إلى الكشف عن العلاقة بين العنف لدى طلاب وطالبات الجامعة وكل من سمات الشخصية الخمس الكبرى وتوكيد الذات، وفحص الفروق بين الجنسين في متغيرات الدراسة، بالإضافة إلى فحص الفروق بين الطلاب والطالبات في العنف وفقاً لتخصصهم الدراسي (كليات نظرية- كليات عملية). وتكونت العينة من 268 طالبا" وطالبة من جامعات حلوان والقاهرة والأزهر ومن تخصصات علمية ونظرية مختلفة، بواقع 132 ذكور- 136 إناث تراوحت أعمارهم ما بين 18-23 عاماً بمتوسط عمري قدره 17.9 عاماً وانحراف معياري قدره 1.35 عاماً. وطبقت عليهم أدوات: مقياس العنف لدى طلاب الجامعة، قائمة العوامل الخمسة الكبرى للشخصية، ومقياس السلوك التوكيدي. وأسفرت النتائج عن وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الطلاب والطالبات في العنف (البدني- الكلي- العام) في اتجاه الطلاب، وعدم وجود فروق بينهما في كل من سمات الشخصية الخمس الكبرى وتوكيد الذات، ووجود علاقة ارتباطية سالبة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين درجات الذكور والإناث في العنف ودرجاتهم على كل من يقظة الضمير، والطيبة، وكذلك وجود علاقة ارتباطية موجبة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين درجات الذكور والإناث في العنف ودرجاتهم على العصابية، بينما لا توجد علاقة بين العنف وتوكيد الذات لدى الجنسين، وكذلك لا توجد فروق بين الطلاب والطالبات في العنف وفقاً للتخصص الدراسي. The goal of current research is to reveal the relationship between violence among students of the university and all of big five personality traits and self-assertiveness, and examine gender differences in the variables of the study, as will as examine the differences between male and female students in the violence, according to their academic specialization. A sample consisted of 268 students from universities Helwan, Cairo and Al-Azhar and from different academic specializations, the rate of (132 males- 136 females) between the ages of 18-23 years with an average age of 17.9 years and a standard deviation of 1.35 years. And applied them tools: Violence measure of university students, The NEO Five Factor Inventory, and Scale of Assertive Behavior. The Result revealed that there are significant statistical differences between mean scores of male and female in violence, with the absence of their differences in both the big five personality traits and self-assertiveness, a negative significant correlation between scores of violence and scores of agreeableness, conscientiousness for males and females, And also there is a positive significant correlation between scores of violence and scores of neuroticism, while there are no relationship between violence and self- assertiveness, as well as the differences between male and female students in the violence does not exist according to the academic specialization.
