هدفت الدراسة التعرف على الدور التربوي لطبيب الصحة المدرسية المقيم في بعض المدارس الأهلية، وذلك من خلال تحديد التأهيل للاحتياجات التربوية والأدوار والصعوبات لدى أطباء بعض المدارس الأهلية بمدنية الرياض، والبالغ عددهم 77 طبيباً؛ وقد طبقت الدراسة على 68 طبيباً، واعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي بأسلوبه المسحي. تم استخدام الاستبانة كأداة لجمع البيانات الدراسة بعد التأكد من صدقها وثباتها، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة عدم وجود التأهيل والتدريب التربوي لدى أطباء المدارس الأهلية، كما أشارت النتائج إلى حاجة أطباء المدارس الأهلية للجوانب التربوية التي تعزز دورهم التربوي، وأوضحت أن أدوارهم كانت في معظمها علاجية في حين تراجعت الأدوار التثقيفية والتوعوية؛ كما تبين أن أطباء المدارس الأهلية يواجهون صعوبات مادية وبشرية، وكذلك يعانون من كثافة الطلاب في المدارس. وختمت الدراسة بعدد من التوصيات، كان من أهمها تصميم وتنفيذ برامج تدريبية معتمدة على الحاجات التربوية للأطباء والممرضين الذين سوف يتم توجيههم إلى المدارس الحكومية. The study aimed at identifying the educational role for the resident school health doctors in some private schools, and that was through the identification of qualifications and educational needs, roles, and difficulties faced by school doctors in some private schools in Riyadh City. The target number of doctors in this study was 77 doctors of whom 68 doctors participated in the study. This study relied on the descriptive survey method in which the questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection thus after confirmation of its validity and reliability. Results of the study showed that health doctors in private schools a lacks qualification and educational training, the results also revealed that there is need for health doctors in private schools to be knowledgeable on educational aspects that will enhance their educational role in the private schools. The study showed that the major role for health doctors in private school was therapeutic roles followed by educational and lastly awareness role. The study indicated that health doctors in private schools are facing financial difficulties, scarcity of human resource and the overwhelming number of students in private schools. The study concluded with a number of recommendations, most important of which was designing and implementation of training programs based on the educational needs purposely for school doctors and nurses who will be engaged in government schools.
