هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى معرفة الاتجاهات الأخلاقية السائدة لمديري المدارس في دولة الكويت. وتألفت العينة من 250 مديرا ومديرة. وفي ضوء النتائج التي توصلت إليها الدراسة، تبين أن عينة الدراسة يميلون إلى استخدام الاتجاه المثالي أكثر من استخدامهم للاتجاه النسبي. هذا بالإضافة إلى أن الغالبية العظمى من العينة يتبنون الاتجاه الموقفي الأخلاقي ثم يليهم أصحاب الاتجاه الأخلاقي المطلق ثم الذاتيون ولا يوجد أي مدير يمارس الاتجاه الأخلاقي الاستثنائي. وخلصت نتائج الدراسة إلى أن مديرات المدارس يملن إلى تبني الاتجاه المثالي في المدرسة. توصل الباحثان أيضا إلى أن المديرين من حملة شهادة البكالوريوس يجنحون إلى الاتجاه المثالي أكثر من أقرانهم من حملة الماجستير. وتوصلت الدراسة أيضا إلى وجود فروق في الاتجاه المثالي تبعا لمتغير سنوات الخدمة كمدير لصالح الأكثر خدمة. أيضا كان هناك فروق تبعا لمتغير المرحلة الدراسية والمنطقة التعليمية التي ينتمي إليها المدير أو المديرة. The purpose of this study is to explore the ethical orientations of Kuwait’s school principals. To achieve this purpose data are collected during the school year of 2012/2013. Researchers used a questionnaire to examine ethical orientations of the principals. The sample consisted of 250 public school principals. The analysis of the data revealed the following findings: first, principals in Kuwait tend to be idealistic more than relativistic. Second, the vast majority of the principals are situationists (more than 89%), almost 1% of the sample are absolutists, only two principals are subjectivist, and none is exceptionists. Third, female principals incline to be idealistic more than male principals. Fourth, principals who have a bachelor’s degree tend to be idealistic more than principals with a Master’s degree. Fifth, there were significant differences in the degree of the idealistic ethical orientation according to experience, school stages, and school districts. Finally, managerial implications are provided and recommendations are given. (Published abstract)
