هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى تعّرف أنماط المشكلات السلوكية المنتشرة لدى الأطفال ذوي الإعاقة العقلية البسيطة والمتوسطة وعلاقتها بكل من متغير الجنس (ذكور، وإناث)، ومعامل الذكاء، والعمر الزمني. وقد تم استخدام مقياس المشكلات السلوكية المعد خصيصا لهاتين الفئتين، وقام معلمو الأطفال بالإجابة عن عباراته الموزعة على سبعة أبعاد هي: السلوك العدواني، وسلوك إيذاء الذات، وسلوك الكسل واللامبالاة، وسلوك العناد والتحدي، والسلوكيات غير الأخلاقية والمضادة للمجتمع (كالغش والكذب والسرقة)، والسلوك الانسحابي، والسلوكيات المنافية للآداب. وقد تكونت عينة الدراسة من 63 طفلا من ذوي الإعاقة العقلية البسيطة والمتوسطة، 39 ذكورا، و24 إناثا، معاملات ذكائهم ما بين 36-69، وأعمارهم الزمنية ما بين 4-21 سنة، وهو مدى زمني واسع حتى يمكن التحقق من علاقة المشكلات السلوكية بمراحل العمر الزمني المختلفة لعينة الدراسة. وقد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تبعاً لمتغير الجنس (ذكورا وإناثا)، بينما ظهرت فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تبعا لمتغير معامل الذكاء في اتجاه ذوي الإعاقة العقلية المتوسطة الذين كانت لديهم مشكلات سلوكية أكبر منها لدى ذوي الإعاقة العقلية البسيطة، وظهرت كذلك فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تبعا لمتغير العمر الزمني في اتجاه المرحلة العمرية الثالثة من 16-21 سنة. وانتهت الدراسة بتقديم مجموعة توصيات، واقتراح بعض البحوث المستقبلية ذات الصلة بموضوعها. The present study aimed to identify samples of behavioral problems that are common with mildly and moderately mentally handicapped children, in relation to: gender, age and the modulus of intelligence. The Behavioral Problems Scale, which is made especially for those children, has been used. The children's teachers have completed its phrases, which are distributed on seven dimensions. These dimensions are: the aggressive behavior, self-injurious behavior, laziness and indifference behavior, defiance and obstinacy behavior, acting out behaviors, and withdrawal behavior. Sixty-three mildly and moderately handicapped children (aged 4-21 years, with a modulus of intelligence 36-69) took part in the study: 39 males and 24 females. Findings indicated that there were no statistical symptoms on the basis of gender. However, findings indicated statistical symptoms differences on the basis of the modulus of intelligence with the moderate mentally handicapped children who had more behavioral problems than the mildly retarded children. Also, statistical symptoms differences were found on the basis of age towards the third stage (aged 16-21 years). The study resulted in giving some recommendations, and suggesting certain future researches regarding the same topic. (Published abstract)
