هدفت هذه الدراسة التعرف إلى علاقة الإدمان على الإنترنت بالتوافق النفسي لدى عينة من (290) طالبا وطالبة من طلبة البكالوريوس في كلية التربية في جامعة السلطان قابوس منهم (150) من الإناث و(140) من الذكور تم اختيارهم عشوائيا. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة استخدم الباحث مقياس الإدمان على الإنترنت ومقياس التوافق النفسي بعد التأكد من صدق وثبات كليهما. وللإجابة عن فرضيات الدراسة استخدم الباحث المتوسطات الحسابية والانحرافات المعيارية، ومعامل ارتباط بيرسون، واختبار (ت)، حيث أشارت النتائج إلى ما يلي: 1) توجد علاقة ارتباط عكسية ما بين الإدمان على الإنترنت والتوافق النفسي لدى طلبة الجامعة. 2) إن درجة التوافق النفسي أدنى لدى مجموعة مدمني الإنترنت مقارنة بمجموعة غير مدمني الإنترنت. 3) توجد فروق دالة إحصائياً بين الذكور والإناث في مستوى الإدمان على الإنترنت، وان هذا المستوى لصالح الذكور. 4) لا توجد فروق دالة إحصائيا بين الذكور والإناث في مستوى التوافق النفسي. وفي ضوء النتائج تمت صياغة جملة من التوصيات والمقترحات التي يمكن أن تسهم في تحسين أساليب التعامل لدى الطلبة مع الإدمان على الإنترنت، وزيادة الاتصال الاجتماعي، والوقاية من انخفاض التوافق النفسي. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between Internet addiction and psychological adjustment by using a sample of 290 undergraduate students from the Faculty of Education, Sultan Qaboos University, (150) females and (140) males were distributed randomly. The researcher used Internet addiction scale and psychological adjustment scale after its validity and reliability to answer the hypotheses of the study. Means and standard deviations, person’s relational coefficients and T-test were used. The results of the study indicated that there is a negative correlation between Internet addiction and Psychological adjustment. The level of Psychological adjustment is lower among the internet addicted than non-addicts ones. There were significant differences between males and females in the level of Internet addiction. Internet addiction is higher among males. There were no significant differences between males and females in the level of psychological adjustment. The findings of this study indicated that there were some recommendations according to the study results which may develop students coping style with Internet addiction, and may increase developing social communication skills, which in turn would help in preventing psychological adjustment.
