يهدف هذا البحث إلى الكشف عن العلاقة بين الوحدة النفسية وبين الاكتئاب لدى الأطفال من تلاميذ الصف الرابع من التعليم الأساسي في مدارس مدينة دمشق الرسمية، كما يهدف إلى معرفة الفروق بين الأطفال في الوحدة النفسية وبين الاكتئاب تبع لمتغير الجنس ذكورا وإناثا. وقد تكونت عينة البحث من 814 تلميذا وتلميذة من تلاميذ الصف الرابع من التعليم الأساسي موزعين إلى 418 تلميذا من الذكور و396 تلميذة من الإناث تم اختيارهم بطريقة عشوائية طبقية من مدارس مدينة دمشق الرسمية. وطُبق عليهم اختبارا الوحدة النفسية والشعور بالاكتئاب لدى الأطفال من إعداد الباحثة، بعد أن قامت الباحثة بتطبيقهما على عينة استطلاعية وتأكدت من صدقهما وثباتهما. وقد أشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى: 1) وجود ارتباط بين الوحدة النفسية وبين الاكتئاب لدى أطفال عينة البحث جميعا، حيث بلغت قيمة معامل الارتباط بين الوحدة النفسية والاكتئاب 0.77. 2) وجود ارتباط بين الوحدة النفسية وبين الاكتئاب لدى الأطفال من الجنسين، حيث بلغت قيمة معامل الارتباط بين الوحدة النفسية والاكتئاب عند الذكور 0.79 بينما بلغت قيمة معامل الارتباط بين الوحدة النفسية والاكتئاب عند الإناث 0.79. 3) تبين عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الذكور والإناث في الوحدة النفسية. 4) تبين عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الذكور والإناث في الاكتئاب. This research aims at exploring the relationship between children's loneliness and depression in the primary fourth class of the state schools of Damascus. It also aims at indicating the differences between children's in loneliness and depression according to gender (Males and Females). The sample of the study consisted of 814 child 418 males, 396 females in the primary fourth class of the state schools of Damascus. This sample was selected randomly by using a stratified random sample. The tools of the study included tests of feeling of loneliness & feeling of depression which were prepared by the researcher; these tools were applied on a pilot sample and tested for validity and reliability. This research comes up with the following results: 1) There is a relationship between loneliness and depression for members of the sample; the value of the correlation factor between loneliness and depression was 0.77. 2) There is a statistical significant relationship between loneliness and depression of members of the sample. The value of the correlation factor between Loneliness and depression of the males sample was 0.79, but the value of the correlation factor between Loneliness and Depression of the females sample was 0.75. 3) There are no statistical significant differences in loneliness between males and females. 4) There are no statistical significant differences in Depression between males and females.
