هدفت الدراسة إلى تقصي مهارات حل المشكلات لدى طلبة جامعة القدس المفتوحة في فلسطين، وتحديد الاختلاف في هذه المهارات بحسب بعض خصائصهم النوعية كالجنس، والكلية (التخصص)، والمستوى الدراسي للطالب. إستخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي القائم على وصف الواقع من خلال الاستبانة التي تمتعت بدلالات صدق وثبات تسمح باعتبارها مناسبة لأغراض الدراسة، واختيرت عينة الدراسة من طلبة الجامعة بطريقة المعاينة العشوائية، وبما يتوافق مع متغيرات الدراسة، وبلغ حجم العينة 3773 طالبا وطالبة، يمثلون نسبة 6% من مجمل طلبة الجامعة. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن درجة مهارات حل المشكلات لدى طلبة الجامعة هي دون المتوسط (سالبة)، إذ بلغ متوسط درجات الطلبة 2.41 بانحراف معياري قدره 1.09. وأشارت النتائج إلى وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا في مجالات مهارة حل المشكلات كافة تبعا لمتغير الجنس، ولصالح الإناث. كما أن الفروق كانت دالة فقط في مجال توليد بدائل الحل للمشكلة باختلاف الكلية التعليمية، كما أن الفروق في المهارات كانت لصالح طلبة مستوى السنة الرابعة في مجال التوجه العام نحو المشكلة دون المجالات الأخرى. The study aimed to identify the levels of problem solving skills among Al-Quds Open University students in Palestine. It also aimed to identify the variances in the averages of these skills in terms of certain qualitative variables such as gender, college, and study level for the student. The study used a descriptive approach based on the description of reality through the questionnaire that was designed to measure the degree of problem solving skills, and enjoyed the significance of the validity and reliability which allow to be considered as suitable for the purposes of the study. A total of 3,773 respondents participated in this study, representing 6% of university students in all 22 branches of the University in Palestine. The results shows that the average rate of problem solving skills among university students was below moderate (negative), with an average 2.41 and a standard deviation 1.09. The results also shows significant difference in problem solving skills of final year level and third year students, and students from different fields of study. (Published abstract)
