هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى التعرف على فاعلية قائمة العوامل الخمسة الكبرى للشخصية، ومقياس الأسلوب المعرفي في التعرف على الموهوبين المكتشفين بأساليب الكشف التقليدية، شارك في الدراسة 335 طالبا وطالبة من طلاب الصف الثالث الإعدادي من مدينة القاهرة، وتم تطبيق الأدوات التالية: اختبار المصفوفات المتتابعة المعياري، واختبار التوفل للغة الانجليزية، ودرجات الطلاب في امتحان الشهادة الإعدادية، وقائمة العوامل الخمسة الكبرى للشخصية، ومقياس الأسلوب المعرفي. كشفت نتائج الدراسة عن وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الموهوبين والعاديين في بعدين من أبعاد القائمة وهما الضمير الحي، والمقبولية لصالح الموهوبين، كما لم تكشف عن وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الموهوبين والعاديين في أبعاد مقياس الأسلوب المعرفي، وكشفت النتائج عن وجود علاقات ارتباطيه ذات دلالة إحصائية بين مجموع درجات الموهبة والضمير الحي، وبين مجموع درجات الموهبة والمقبولية، وعن وجود علاقات ارتباطيه ذات دلالة إحصائية بين مجموع درجات الموهبة والمقاومة، وبين مجموع درجات الموهبة والتسلط، وبين مجموع درجات الموهبة والتسامح. وخلصت الدراسة إلى وجود فاعلية جزئية لأسلوب قياس الشخصية في التمييز بين الموهوبين والعاديين. The present study aimed to identify the effectiveness of the inventory of the five major factors of personality, and the cognitive style scale in the identification of gifted students whom were identified with traditional identification methods, participants in the study were 335 male and female students from the third grade middle schools from the city of Cairo. Researchers applied the following tools: SPM, the TOEFL test of English, students’ scores in middle certificate examination, inventory of the five major personality factors, and the cognitive style scale. Results revealed statistically significant differences between the gifted and none gifted in two dimensions of the inventory, conscience, and acceptability in favor of gifted, also results did not reveal a significant statistical differences between the gifted and none gifted in cognitive style scale, and the results revealed the presence of correlation relationships significant statistically between giftedness total scores and conscience, and between the total scores of giftedness and admissibility, and the presence of correlation statistically significant relationship between the total scores of giftedness and resistance, and the total scores of giftedness and domination, and the total scores of giftedness and tolerance. The study concluded that the presence of partial effectiveness of the method of measurement in the personal distinction between the gifted and none gifted. (Published abstract)
