The current research aims to explore the problems experienced by database specialist the in administrating educational portal in Muscat governorate’s schools, and to examine the statistical differences of the problems experienced by those database specialist that attribute to variables such as: the social type, the qualification, the experience and the studying phase. The research applies the descriptive approach. A questionnaire has been set up to collect data and information from participants with a sample size of 126 male/female database specialist. The study found the following results: the problems faced by database specialist in administrating educational portal were generally frequent and varied among the study elements. The material problems element comes on top of the scale and it was at a high level. On a second rank comes the mankind problems element then the technical problems element which also occurred highly. The last element on the scale was the administrative problems and it was on a moderate level. The findings of the study also indicated that there were no significant statistical differences at (a=0.05) score level on the qualification, years of experience and the studying phase variables, nor on the social type variable at all elements except for the material problems element, where the differences showed with the females. One of the recommendations of the study was to develop the educational portal website for the ministry of education and make it more adjustable to absorb the increase of data every year. The study also recommended to develop a professional career gradation for database specialist as a job to give the position holders an opportunity get promoted, and lastly to train those database specialist academically, studying the database as a major in the specialized center for professional training of teachers.
