AU - مهدي، إنتصار جواد AB - The aim of the present research is to investigate the effect of using active discussion in solving mathematical problems in mathematics for fifth grade students. The researcher adopted the experimental method and used the design of the post-test (Post-test) for two equal groups (experimental and control). The research was determined by the fifth-grade primary school students in the morning primary schools for girls of the General Directorate of Education in Baghdad / Al-Karkh Second for the academic year (2018-2019), the martyr Adel Nasser School for Girls was chosen intentionally and the research sample consisted of (72) students. for experimental design. The required teaching plans for the teaching of mathematical subjects were prepared for both experimental groups studied according to the active discussion and control taught according to the usual method. The researcher presented the research tool to a group of arbitrators to determine its suitability for the purpose for which it was developed, and applied the test to a survey sample for the purpose of statistical analysis of its paragraphs. A number of statistical methods were used where the spss -22 program was used: T-test for two equal independent samples, Equation of difficulty and discrimination, Effectiveness of alternatives, Alpha-Cronbach equation. The results showed that the pupils who studied the subject matter using the active discussion outweighed the pupils who studied using the standard method of testing mathematical problems. In the light of the results, a number of conclusions, recommendations and proposals were reached.
