AU - صمايري، هشام‎ AB - This research deals with educational thought in Africa during the first centuries of migration, relying on three heritage texts that are considered among the earliest educational sources in Maghreb and the Islamic world in general. They are, respectively: « Ādāb āl-mūʿalimīn » by Ibn Ibn Saḥnūn, and « Al-risāla al-mūfaṣala fī ahwāl al-mūtaʿalimīn wa aḥkām al-mūʿalimīn wa al-mūtaʿalimīn » by Al-Qābisī, and «Syāsat aṣ-ṣibyān wa tadbīrihim » by Ibn Al-Jazzār. This work seeks to overcome the generalization trend, surrounding the heritage literature related to education, principally those related to the scientific aspects of it. Furthermore, it seeks to find out what content corresponds to some ideas, pedagogical approaches and modern theories of education in the light of the patterns of intellectual and mental patterns characteristic of the environment of their time.
