AU - طلبة، خلف عبد المعطي عبد الرحمن AB - The current research attempted to develop the skills of writing narrative texts parallel to the literary texts among second grade of secondary stage students, using a strategy based on semiotic analysis. To achieve this goal, the researcher prepared: a checklist of narrative writing skills, a test of narrative writing, and a strategy based on semiotic analysis of literary text. The research group consisted of 42 students who were randomly selected from Etsa and Minya Al-Hiet Secondary Schools, in Fayoum Governorate. They were divided into two groups: An experimental group of 21 students, and a control group of 20 students. The research results indicated that there was a statistically significant difference at (0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group students in the post administration of narrative writing skills' test as a whole and in all of skills as separate for the experimental group. And there was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the students in the pre and post administration of narrative writing skills' test for the post administration. In light of the results, the researcher recommends paying attention to semiotic analysis of literary texts for developing other skills of Arabic language. It is also recommended to develop students' narrative writing as it is considered one of the high levels of writing through which students' linguistic abilities and their mastery of language arts will be clear.
