AU - الحربي، آية محمد AU - الصمادي، أحمد عبد المجيد AU - طنوس، عادل AU - الشواشرة، عمر مصطفى AU - حمدي، محمد نزيه عبد القادر AB - The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral counseling program in improving study skills and attitudes toward school among low achiever female students in the higher basic classes in Jordan. The sample of this study consisted of (30) participated students from the higher basic classes’ female students (7th, 8th, 9th, 10th grades ) in Al Mafraq city during first semester 2018- 2019 year. The participants were randomly assigned into two groups: experimental group included (15) students, who received a counseling program consisted of (20) sessions; and a control group consisted of (15) students, who did not receive the any treatment. The scales of study skills and school attitudes were administered to both groups as pre- post- tests. Follow up measures was administered after four weeks for the experimental group only. The results of the study showed significant differences between two groups regarding the level of study skills and schools’ attitudes in favor of experimental group. Also, the results showed continuity of the consoling program effects after one month of follow up. Several recommendations were suggested.
