AU - شاهين، حسان رافع AB - This study aims at examining the degree of applying quality assurance standards at the centers of special education from the perspective of parents in Amman governorate /Jordan. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method. Sixteen centers of special education were selected randomly including six public centers and ten private centers. A total of 207 parents, whose children joining special education centers, participated in the study. The researcher adopted Alsmadee and others questionnaire (2001), which was designed to measure the effectiveness of applying quality assurance standards by special education centers. The questionnaire consisted of 30 items. The results of the study revealed that the degree of applying quality assurance standards at special education centers was high. In addition, the results displayed that there are statistically significant differences with regard to the level of applying quality assurance standards at special education centers from the perspective of parents in favor of private special education centers, which can be ascribed to the variable of center type. It was also found out that there are statistically significant differences with respect to the level of applying quality assurance standards at special education centers from the perspective of parents in favor of bachelor or higher degree holders, which can be attributed to the variable of parents' educational level.
