AU - الدعيس، محمد ناجي AU - الدعيس، إبراهيم ناجي AB - The current study aimed to reveal the degree of need of Yemeni universities to employ computer technology in the administrative fields from the viewpoint of the Vice Deans for Academic Affairs, according to the variables (university, college, academic position, and administrative experience). To achieve this, the study used the descriptive analytical method, and a questionnaire was developed that included (35) items and distributed to a sample of (78) deputy deans, working in (5) formal universities and (3) private universities. The results of the study showed that the degree of need of Yemeni universities to employ computer technology in administrative fields obtained a total average of (3.83), that is, the degree of need is high. At the level of fields, the field of organization got the highest average of (3.92), followed by the field of supervision with an average of (3.91). Thirdly got the field of planning with an average of (3.86) and fourthly the field of implementation of college tasks with an average of (3.79) and all of the fields refer to the high degree of need, and finally the field of administrative procedures with an average of (3.64) and the degree of need is medium. The results also indicated that there are no statistically significant differences in perceptions of vice deans about the degree of the need of Yemeni universities to employ computer technology in the administrative fields due to the different study variables: university, college, academic position, and administrative experience. According to the results, a number of recommendations and proposals were presented to meet the need of Yemeni universities to employ computer technology in the administrative and other fields.
