AU - العبادي، غادة مؤيد شهاب AU - محمود، دعاء أحمد AB - The research aimed at identifying the effect of Van Hiel style according to cognitive control patterns in learning background rolling skills on the balance beam in women's gymnastics. The researchers hypothesized significant statistical differences between pre and posttest in all four groups in learning some motor skills in favor of the posttests. The researcher used the experimental method. The subjects were (35) female second year students of Physical Education College- University of Baghdad. The researcher used cognitive control scale on the subjects that was divided into four groups; two experimental (left and right hemisphere) and two controlling (left and right hemisphere) and used Van Hiele in learning motor skills learning. After pretests (10) teaching units was executed with one teaching session per week with 75 minutes. The results were collected and treated statistically to come up with the conclusions. The researchers concluded that the Van Hiele is effective in learning motor skills compared to the traditional style used in class.
