AU - العباسي، عزة السيد السيد AB - The aim of this paper was to investigate the most prevalent obstacles that hinders practice of change management among administrative leaders in Egyptian educational directorates and departments (ones of Port Said Governorate as a model). To achieve this ultimate aim, a subjective questionnaire was prepared in order to recognize these leaders’ views concerning four main criteria; a supportive organizational climate of change, the middle management role in the change process, methods of change, difficulties that administrative leaders face when practicing change management. This study used the descriptive analytical approach in addition to the case study method to investigate the research problem and objectives. Based upon its field results, this study provided recommendations to help the administrative leaders overcome obstacles, which hinders practice of change management. Some included strengthening the participation of the middle administration staff to involve those individuals who are directly affected by change in the processes of recognizing management problems, designing change objectives and plan, and discussing how to implement the change and its stages in such a way that motivates them to participate and implement.
